It's from Rush to Tug! Martingale Lead
Purple Night, 2" thick I believe.
Moose has one from Snuffles and Tugs that is also great! Snuffles & Tugs custom gear for sports dogs
They are great for agility, barn hunt, etc. as they double as a tug toy if your dog enjoys being rewarded that way!

I'm kinda bummed... we had to runs but only two pics to choose from. There were a couple of red Dobes that ran after we left and their pictures are GREAT!! I know it all happens very fast and they were cycling through runs like crazy. Probably a good thing as they are not cheap

Great shots! I think this event has to be real challenging for the photographer, what with the fence and only a few seconds. Rubie didn't run naked? LOL. That's what someone called it when I was reading about Fast Cats and I love the term. I figure if 3 pounds can make a difference on a 1000 pound race horse, a 6 oz collar might shave a 1/2 second off a 60 lb dog. Race horses were my life for 20 years, can you see why this sport excites me?

None of the dogs ran naked from what I could see! Really, it was the quickest way for me to know that the shots of other red Dobes were NOT Rubie
She does run naked in agility and barn hunt but they did allow collars without anything dangling for this event.NOT Rubie's:
These dogs all ran after we left and I believe there were MORE in the afternoon!!

It had a bit of a slope to it but seemed level side to side. I'm not really sure what the regulations are for a course site but they also do lure coursing on this property, I believe.

Both pooches got to run Fast Cat yesterday! For some reason, they didn't put my dogs in the same group (entries were sent in the same envelop!) so Rubie ran at 10:30 and 11:30 and my husband and Moo's joined us a little later and Moo ran at 1:30 and 2:30.
Rubies runs were FANTASTIC!
This set-up was nice because it instantly showed your time and MPH (smaller dogs get a handicap that the table multiplies by for points).
My husband was releasing Moo so for their first run, I went down to the end to catch. Unfortunately, you had to left from the entrance and around a fence before walking the length of the course. Didn't matter that I was jumping around at the finished line, yelling Moo's name, flapping my arms... He was still looking left in the direction I had originally left him in
He finally saw me but then the 'bunny' scared him a bit. Ulitmately, his first run calculated out to just under 9 MPH BUT I didn't realize that for new dogs, you can enter the course with them and run down the course inside the fence! Gives a straight line of sight to your dog as to where you went.
We did that for Moo's second run and my husband said he was so excited, he was hard to hang on to! Just over 21 MPH for my choco-chunk!
Good weekend for both Doggo's!
Rubie needs one more Barn Hunt Open Q to move into Senior (EEK!) and has just over 95 points toward her BCAT title. I believe it's 150 points so 3 more runs should get us there! Moo has just over 30 points toward a BCAT FCAT title.
It was a beautiful day yesterday but actually quite hot in the sun. Of course I put sunscreen on and still got a bit of a sunburn

EXACTLY what Asha did on her first run, Moo was actually faster. LOL! SO.MUCH.FUN. So proud of Rubie - those are some fast times! Asha got about 21 mph on her 2nd run, so maybe next time when she knows what she's doing she can get up to Rubies speed. If we can get in, there's another one (4 hours away, lol) in July.

Dogs are so literal! "I can see Mom is right in front of me but she went left 5 minutes ago WHAT DO I DO!?!?!"
Rubie just keeps getting faster and faster and MORE wound up about the 'bunny.' I'm sure Asha's next couple of runs will be blazing fast!
My calendar right now is littered with trial openings so I can get my entries in the mail 1-2 days before. They are filling up SO FAST around here it's absurd.
I'm always jealous of people in the south! They get to do stuff like coursing and dock diving year round! We only get it for about 6-7 months or so here! That being said, we are already signed up for two more trials. Just Rubie and me in a couple of weeks and then Moo and Rubie a couple of weeks after that. I like it's something I can do with both dogs with no expensive classes needed
I will say... The dogs nails have been intentionally neglected leading up to to yesterday FCAT. They will get done today but I'm embarrassed by them. No doubt they helped. The track yesterday seemed to be fast for a lot of dogs. I heard several people saying their dogs were posting some of their fastest speeds ever!
It did rain on Saturday but was nice yesterday. Not sure if that just made the course just that much springier or what!
I let Ashas nails grow out an extra 10 days - it was awful and I still don't think they are back to where they use to be. I'm not sure I'll do that again. I don't keep them show-short, but I don't think I'll let them get that long again. I usually do them every 7 - 10 days. Yeah, what I love about the Fast Cats is no training classes, just paying for fun and photos!
The times may have been fast due to the electronic timer or a human error of setting the timer even a few feet short of 100 yards. Doesn't take much. The one where I took Asha, their timer was broken and it was hand timed by 2 people at the finish, then those two times averaged. I know those had to be all over the board.
A couple more runs and we can make this list, doesn't matter the time, I just want to get on the list! (minimum of 3 runs in the current year):

I was just looking at that list yesterday! Neither dog would be in the top 20 as of right now but Rubie would be in the 30's somewhere with Moo nearer to the 90's (assuming about 21mpg is his top speed).
Too bad they don't have "American Labs" and "English Labs" in two separate categories Long Bois vs Thicc Bois
The other Dobe there, Cricket, who's owners released Rubie last time and this time, was posting 26mph speeds. I'm sure she's in the top 20 but I don't know her 'fancy' name!
Rubie runs again in about 2 weeks and Moo and Rubie both about 3 weeks later.
Edit to add: I was also very happy to see that Moo didn't have even the slightest hint of a limp the evening or day after! Sometimes he seems to just get a little kink in his step at which point he probably would not be running much FCAT in the future but all seemed great!
