Ripley Show Thread

I love looking through all of your photos and reading about their classes! Watching the videos with other breeds makes me realize how much I enjoy watching a Doberman move. When my husband takes Sasha out, I love to stand at the door and watch her move. Congratulations! We are Northwest Ohio. Let me know if you come our way. I would enjoy seeing her show! Sue
Soooo can you take your pup to WATCH a dog show?

No, the show committee typically discourages this. Although, it will be an outdoor show so if you did, it wouldnt be as overwhelming as indoor. If you did, you cant be ringside and they need to be well behaved to blend in. Dog shows can be a lot if he hasnt experienced many large events so something to keep in mind.

I just love all these pics! It will be very interesting to see just how far she goes and this when it was just "a fun new thing to do" to start with! It also shows just how well trained Ripley is that a new handler can so easily have her trust and attention. :congrats:

It will be! We are learning so much and mostly everyone has been helpful. Refreshing when you typically only hear the bad.

@Kswoodssue If you do decide to go let me know so we can say hello in person! ā˜ŗļø

Woohoo, another Reserve WB for Ripley out of the Ambred class in Lima, OH at the designated specialty for the Doberman Pinscher Club of Greater Dayton this weekend!!!

Derek got to pilot her all of Friday, and again on Sunday in WB for her Reserve when there was a conflict for her handler. Paula handled her beautifully on Sat and Sun. She won her class every day. So pleased with her and her development so far. She should be ready for Open class by the end of the year. Slow n steady in growth. But look at her MOVE 🄰

She actually free stacked nicely for her! She hadn't done one yet for her as she's used to Derek's cues.

I just love this video of her moving and reeking of confidence lol

And Ripley being a donkey and taking advantage of Derek trying to chase Paula and her Open bitch lol. They had just played with each other a little before breed started to help her get a little confidence from Ripley.

It was SO nice to meet you and your husband @Kswoodssue !! Thank you for coming out and watching! I really enjoyed chatting with you guys and hopefully we can meet up again, maybe even let the girls play together some day!

It was so nice to meet you guys! Ripley is absolutely beautiful! I have no foubt that great things are ahead! I look forward to meeting again!

Ripley finally broke her RWB streak and landed a WB win for our one day of showing at Muncie, IN this weekend! Unfortunately, she didn't get the crossover major win from dogs. It would have been nice since it's so hard to get a major in b*tches anymore as you need so many entered and shown to make one. 3 pts down, 12 to go haha.

She's ready and matured now to move to Open class. Her handler said sometimes that's all it takes to see wins. We are headed to 4 days of Corunna, MI at the beginning of the month and it should be majors so we will see how she does her first time out in Open!

Official win pic to come

Love that first picture standing! She IS looking all grown up now! Congratulations on the points and best of luck at the 4 day show coming up!

:congrats:
1 pt is 1 pt.... I've seen some chase that one last point for a year!

The Point Schedule really sucks!!! Division 14 (AL, AR, LA, MS, TN) isn't bad, but Division 4 (GA, FL, SC) is CRAZY.... 18 b*tches for a 3 pt major.
Hopefully, by the time I get an entry back out there the #'s will be a little more realistic! (Point Schedule is recalculated/changes every May)

18 b*tches for a 3 pt major.
Yeah it's nuts! It was 18 here the year before now it's 15 but still hard to make...I am seeing dogs make majors a lot this year. For b*tches, I usually see around 10-14, and then if it does make it over, people inevitably don't show for whatever reason... so there better be a few extra over to hold it. It shoots up to 20 for a 4 pt major and THIRTY for a 5. 😭
