Keep Tara in your thoughts - attacked by the neighbours dog *GRAPHIC PHOTOS*

It's not the bully breeds but the lack of owner responsibility. I know someone with 2 of them (a judge in fact) and they are well trained and perfectly behaved. They definitely have the power to do damage so a breeder should never let them go to anyone who can't follow up.
Definitely agree with you! Before getting Remy every dog I’ve had growing up has been a bully breed. Never had a problem with any of them.

Update: She had a really good night. She actually didn’t wake until 9.30am haha! She was a little groggy/wobbly getting off the bed but that’s understandable.
She walked out to the garden for a wee and then straight back in to the kitchen looking for her breakfast Lol
I gave her a small amount of breakfast alongside her medication. She soon looked for the other half of her meal, which she ate 🤣

She’s currently back on her bed having a snooze, wrapped up like the princess she is.

@Viemarangelrock I am so sorry to hear of this and wish a speedy recovery for Tara and Titan.

While I know you are focused primarily on your dogs' healing/recovery, does the UK have any legal remedy to hold the offending dog owners accountable? In some communities in the USA, a bite/injuries like that could result in the offending dog being put down, especially if it bites/injures a human.

I'm glad she had a good night. They did a nice job stitching her up so hopefully she'll have a speedy recovery.

Thanks for your kind words ❤️

The authorities have not been involved. The owners decided that the kindest thing to do was to have him PTS.
Tbh, I sensed they never really bonded with the dog. They didn’t have the time and effort for him. Shame we can’t do the same to shitty dog ‘owners’

The dogs owner went and ‘washed’ the blood away last night when we took Tara to the emergency clinic.
This was what we faced today walking Tara around the estate.

And this is the hedge he broke through. Their makeshift ‘fence’ was the other side. Pathetic!

I honestly didn’t even think. Thanks guys ❤

@JanS they paid that bill over the phone straightaway with their Credit Card.

Tara needs a Post Op check-up on Tuesday and then stitches to be removed in 10 days time. Both visits will of course invite charges but I’m assured by my neighbours that those costs will be covered, too.
She may even need more pain relief. Whatever the cost (including an complications if they arise) are covered. I can’t fault them for covering the bills. I’m just so upset that it’s come to this.

Glad to see she is on the mend, and so very very sorry this happened to your dogs and you. It is unfair the way they kept the poor dog, all alone and no interaction....UGH. My biggest nightmare when walking my dogs....is other unruly dogs coming out of nowhere!
I carry pepper spray, unfortunately, you really have to have the dog close enough to nail them with it....I like the idea of a break stick...or even a tazer.
Thank you for the photos and update! She looks adorable in her blankie
