Crop Pics - Lets see your style!

Phoenix's do look long compared to Kaiser's. At this point, if they stand, I am happy! Kaiser was such a little stud at 14 weeks.
Aww thanks! He was a crazy little pup that drove us nuts. I'm glad he looks so innocent in all these pics lol

could you call the vet to find out what cut they gave her?
I think that's a matter of opinion depending on each different vet. Della's vet considered her crop a longer medium, but to me it's just a medium length.

Laura, your girls crop looks like a long medium or a conservative show crop to me. She'll definitely grow into it and I think it will be a really nice fit for her.

Thanks, Jan! I think isn't is going to turn out good!

We are eagerly awaiting the day to pick our 2 new dobe pups up. I'm currently researching where to take them to get their ears cropped. My concern is them tearing off each others posts,wraps,etc... Has anyone else post/wrapped with 2 or more dogs and what did you do to help them learn to leave them alone? These will be our first two doberman puppies and I'm trying to keep my wife as positive and stress free as possible.

Also, I'm leaning towards the medium crop with somewhat of a curve. Mostly because after reading a majority of these posts it seems like the long crops are more time consuming and posting needs to go on longer. With these 2 being our first I don't want to add a task that would be very difficult to complete. Look forward to feedback, thanks!

Wow! Two pups at once? While doable that's a ton of work to take on. While you are doing the research look into litter mate syndrome. It will be important information for you.
I agree on the medium crop being faster to finish and IMHO, much more appealing. Those long crops can look like horns if you don't have a good crop vet.
Welcome to the chat and please hop on over to the introduction section to introduce yourself. https://doberman-chat.com/forums/introduce-yourself.80/ And if you have any pics, please include them. We love puppies!

Hello and welcome from TX.
Wow 2 at once - how exciting! I would suggest starting a new thread or maybe admin can move this so that you get more responses. I'm no expert, but I would think at the very least a good cropping vet that would use a proper cup and taping/bandage would be a good start. I picked up my pup after the stitches were out but on our visits the litter would run around play with the cups on and there were no problems. She did separate the litter (12) into to 2 groups the larger pups and smaller pups when they were indoors.

Thank you and I might do that. Still trying to figure this site out lol

Are these puppies syblings? Show or working line? Usually buying syblings can be tough especially if you have strong working line dogs. I have had dogs with cropped ears that were 3weeks apart. You just need to be diligent about not letting them chew on each other's posts. Also once you have you method down I would always get all my posts ready and cut my tape in strips so when I changed post and tape it was quick and less time for the puppy to be squirming around.

Yes there are siblings Male/Female. Neither show or working, unless you consider protecting home/children working

Yes protection would be Working lines. Good luck and make sure you do seperate training sessions with one crated while the other trains. Limit time when they are out together also, you don't want them to bond to each other to much or it will cause you problems down the road.

I would just be sure to print out a couple photos front and side view so you and the vet don't have any miscommunication. Some vets do way too short a crop when you just say medium and you don't want that. To be on the safe side, I'd say long medium.
