    Welcome! They're actually off to a good start and as stated, you normally need to go through teething (at least 6 months) and sometimes longer for longer crops. They will really start flopping for anyone who stops at 16 weeks since their cartilage is in no way formed yet.

    Okay thank you! That makes me feel much better. I had dobes growing up but was never actually involved in the ear cropping/posting process. It’s very involved but well worth it.

    I find it a great bonding time and actually enjoy it.

    His crop looks beautiful! The general rule is 7 months or so. There are some helpful groups on FB for posting ears yourself. I post my 4 1/2 month old puppy’s ears with the zip tie method (Prima Doberman’s method). It works great!

    This is my boy’s medium crop. His crop was done by Dr. Pew in Utah. He’s 4 months old and we’re still posting!

    Aww and sitting on a step! You'll be posting until they're done teething - 5-7 months!

    Here’s a side profile of my little girl Remy. She got a modified show. The vet cropped her according to her head. She’s almost 6mo in this picture

    That is a nice crop! I noticed it in another thread. It actually looks quite similar to my Oji's crop, but Oji's takes just a bit more of a dramatic cut in from the bell as it goes up.

    So, at almost 6 months, were you still posting or were you done?

    I’m still posting but the rest time between has increased. All her adult teeth are fully in, so I’m thinking a couple more weeks until she’s good :)

    @Juliobjj21

    You are doing a great job!!!

    Keep it going and don’t give in to the temptation to stop until after he is finished teething!
