Doberman puppy owners - track your weight gain here

Are you using a bathroom scale to weigh the holder & the dog then subtract the holders weight? The best way to save your back is to get Annie to jump on a chair, couch, bed, platform - something close to waist high - then pick her up from there. Have the scale close by so handler can just walk a step or two with her to weigh. I can easily pick up Asha from a platform table used in training, but not at all from the ground. She stays between 66 & 69 lbs, but I haven't weighed her in over a year now.
That's what I've been wanting to do but we didn't have anything like a platform table for her to jump on. I've been trying to think of something, anything that she could be on to at least get her to a height where he doesn't have to bend over and lift! I don't want to kill the man! 😄

But now that she's allowed here.....

Yup, the couch just might work!

And, yes, I 'operate' the scale while he lifts. It's digital and you tap it once to get it started and then stand. Impossible to do alone while holding a big dog. 🤪

That's what we do once they hit 50# or so. I let hubby have the dog picked up, then I tap the scale and tell him when it's ready.

I'm half tempted to try Olive again ourselves since I've seen the vet tech get inaccurate weights before.

I don't have to tap my scale, but since I couldn't see over the dog to read it I had to have someone else to do that. I think I quit the scale when Asha was about 8 months old. Haven't had her weight official since the last time at the vets. 69 was the highest it ever was there. I looked back at my weight chart and at 11 months she was 66 lbs and has stayed between 65 and 69 ever since. She filled out but has never carried more weight.

😳😳😳
Well, I just tried weighing Annie myself and just about killed myself LOL but if I did it right, it said 72 lb! Holy crap! I didn't think she was that much.

And actually I can't believe I lifted that much!💪💪 LOL

I'll see if my husband can do it tonight just to verify.

2.14.25 11 months. Well, my 14 yo grandson is here and we were able to get another weight on Annie. Surprisingly, she is still 72 lbs! I really thought the last weight might be off since I did it 😰. Also she had her heat and it's winter with not as much activity. But here we are! 🤷‍♀️

Annie turned a year this month on the 9th, so she is out of the puppy forum. 😁 I thought I'd give a final height and weight for her. I did it myself. 😮‍💨😝💪

He’s not a puppy anymore but I figured I’d update his post since he had his annual vet visit. He hasn’t been weighed since his appointment last year, so I had no idea what he’d weigh.

Looking good @remy !!!

From 11 months till now her weight range has been 63.2 to 63.6, so I am not sure if she is done filling out or what?
Since she's a girl and has stayed so consistent, she could be close to done. That is about average for a female Doberman. Olive has an appointment a month from today so it will be interesting to see if she's even hit 60# yet.
