I've been trying to think of something, anything that she could be on to at least get her to a height where he doesn't have to bend over and lift! I don't want to kill the man!Are you using a bathroom scale to weigh the holder & the dog then subtract the holders weight? The best way to save your back is to get Annie to jump on a chair, couch, bed, platform - something close to waist high - then pick her up from there. Have the scale close by so handler can just walk a step or two with her to weigh. I can easily pick up Asha from a platform table used in training, but not at all from the ground. She stays between 66 & 69 lbs, but I haven't weighed her in over a year now.
But now that she's allowed here.....

Yup, the couch just might work!
And, yes, I 'operate' the scale while he lifts. It's digital and you tap it once to get it started and then stand. Impossible to do alone while holding a big dog.
