Puppy is not gaining weight

Please help me out with My puppy Simba(American doberman) is 71 days 10 weeks old, all the threads and online weight and size chart shows it must be 8-10kg of weight but my puppy weighs 4.8kg before I was feeding him 4 times 8am/12pm/4pm/9pm but he started neglecting food So I changed the schedule. Currently feeding him 3 times 9am/3pm/9pm. I am too much concerned. He came to me at 30 days weight 1.5kg.

He was only 4 weeks old and 3lbs when you got him? That’s part of the problem. They shouldn’t be taken away from mom until 8 weeks old. From my understanding weaning is a gradual process that they start around the age you got your puppy. I wouldn’t be surprised if he missed out on more of moms milk.

What food is available to you and what amount do you feed per day?

I would strongly recommend a vet visit. Lets see if someone more experienced with young pups has more to add.

I also think that the pup wasn't properly weaned and missed out on valuable nutrition from its mom. You should consult a vet and possibly get some type of special food that would help the pup regain some nutrition it is lacking. Hope you find a solution quickly.

Has he received proper de worming and puppy shots too? I think you need to get him to a vet for a health check, as you should with any new puppy or dog upon bringing them home. You want to catch anything abnormal and get to treating it right away.

Hi..
Is there is any progress now?? What are you feeding him?? My puppy is 2 months old and is 2.8 kg only...but now he is gaining some weight. I am feeding him drools focus and soya chunks with rice. Giving multivitamin, liver tonic and RBC syrup
