FastCat

I guess they average out the times from the competition or deduct for a south wind?? Haha….

Because the FastCat personnel recorded faster times for both Freyja and Ragnar.

Freyja’s recorded times on Sunday were:
8.074secs= 25.333mph
8.011secs= 25.533mph

Ragnar’s times Sunday were:
8.408secs= 24.327mph
8.734secs= 23.419mph

Doesn’t really matter to me, not nitpicking…just trying to understand it.

204.545/run time = MPH X Handicap.
Handicap is .01

So with Freyja-
204.545 / 8.011= 25.533 mph/points.
I wonder where they get 25.24?

Their math has never seemed to align exactly with mine either but you should be using just the top 3 speeds. I wouldn't even bother with the handicap since big doggo's are 1 for 1. Just average their top 3 MPH speeds.

2018 and after: This list reflects the average of each dog's three fastest runs for the year selected. Dogs will not appear on this list unless they have completed 3 Fast CAT runs in the year.

Lifetime: This list reflects an average of each dog's three fastest runs across their lifetime. Dogs will not appear on this list unless they have completed 3 Fast CAT runs in their lifetime.

Woo!! Look at her go and look at all the Melrae dobes in the top 100. Rip has been bumped down to #96 since her one weekend of runs, avg'd at 24.64. Cant wait to run her again in the spring and see her break 25!

OM SQUEEEEEE our first FCAT entry for 2022 goes out today! If I wasn't already excited for warmer weather, now I certainly am!

I was actually very pleased to see that we have a lot more 'close' trials this season. We have a handful less than an hour away and a new one that is a mere 15 minutes. Call us spoiled!

@Ddski5 any plans for FCAT this year?
😳 do you mean BCAT? 😁

We are running Ripley at the Kentuckiana cluster in March! She has 98pts so we just need 3 runs and she should be getting her first fastcat title there! If she surprises us, she could earn it in two but with 5 shows, 3 fastcat, and 1 dock diving premier in 3 days, I don't expect her to. She's gonna be one tired pup.

This is going to be a fun year for our dogs it sounds like!! Can't wait to hear all about it.

I hope you do, too!!!!

I hope I can get Rubie to 4 trials because that should be enough for her DCAT!

@Ddski5 any plans for FCAT this year?
Yes ma’am- March 25-27

Should be able to get that BCAT!
Freyja has 99.94 points
Ragnar has 95 points

I would really like to enter them in the zig zag CAT’s…..I don’t feel like the FastCATs is long enough, they want more!!!!

Maybe get the BCAT on Saturday and then run the CAT’s on Sunday.

Ran the FastCAT this weekend and both Ragnar and Freyja received their BCAT.
What a beautiful weekend to do this...mid 70's and not a cloud in the sky.

And y'all were 100% right....last time we went, both were well behaved and did not put up a ruckus at all- nice and calm. The moment we got out of the truck this weekend, Freyja turned into the Tasmanian devil and Ragnar was a bucking Brahman bull, they were nuts. Most of the time I can control them but damn, they were absolutely crazy!

Freyja’s recorded times were:
Saturday:
7.709secs= 26.53mph
7.876secs= 25.97mph
Sunday:
7.651secs= 26.73mph
7.864secs= 26.01mph

Ragnar’s times were:
Saturday:
8.208secs= 24.92mph
8.376secs= 24.42mph
Sunday:
8.294secs= 24.66mph
8.352secs= 24.49mph

My two helpers on Saturday- my daughter and niece. When I was in the gate running Ragnar, Freyja was so jacked up that she knocked my niece down and drug her down the lane. Hate to laugh but it was funny, poor girl had no idea what/who she was trying to hold....

Since we hit the BCAT early, I decided to run them in the CAT also. I really have to say that I like the CAT better. The FastCAT is pretty chaotic and since its 60yds, it ends fairly quickly. With the CAT, you can sit back and watch the speed and gracefulness of 600yds. Have to say that barrel chested Ragnar gave it his best and Freyja was so smooth, I watched in awe. Damn, I could watch them run like this for hours, so much fun. Both Ragnar and Freyja received their CAT.

Oh yeah, I forgot to say that my brother came and helped today, Sunday. I let him take them in the gate and release on all FastCAT and CAT's today. It's pretty funny to see his facial expressions and reactions when he was trying to control and set them up to release. He said he was amazed at how powerful Dobermans are.

Lol initiation by fire for the extended family!

Surprise! :dobe:

Congrats on the titles! Freyja’s times are great!

Wow!!!! What a weekend!!!

How awesome you also got to run CAT courses ❤️ please please PLEASE tell me there was a photog there!? I love CAT pictures because they can get the profiles as well as the head-ons.

Is it just me or did Ragnar seem a bit better at anticipating the CAT course? Freyja seemed to take wider turns. And WOW is she fast! Breaking 26mph!!! She's going to look good when they update the rankings!!!!
