At least they had fun running! I think the reward is the dogs having fun - that's the ticket to life, right? I'm not even sure I can get to a Fast Cat this year, and I'm pretty sure that after their peak fitness age (2 - 4???) they can't help but decline in speed... Your two had a great time and a great day and you had a great outing with them. All adds up to win, win, win! Plus the reward of that photo at the end of the day! Pure Bliss!
Yeah, we have been noticing recently that Rubie is getting up a little slower and stiffer depending on what her physical activity has been. Moo allegedly had that "extra" 10 pounds. He has lost a few but the fact that he was so close to his normal speed sort of confirms for me that he's been building up those swimming muscles (even if it does mean adding a little weight).
Rubie turns 7 in December and Moo turned 4 in March. Not spring chickens but still plenty of asshattery left

We did have fun and saw some people/dogs that I haven't crossed paths with in over a year since we haven't been training/competing in anything, really. And of course, there will be the photos
