FastCat

At least they had fun running! I think the reward is the dogs having fun - that's the ticket to life, right? I'm not even sure I can get to a Fast Cat this year, and I'm pretty sure that after their peak fitness age (2 - 4???) they can't help but decline in speed... Your two had a great time and a great day and you had a great outing with them. All adds up to win, win, win! Plus the reward of that photo at the end of the day! Pure Bliss!

Yeah, we have been noticing recently that Rubie is getting up a little slower and stiffer depending on what her physical activity has been. Moo allegedly had that "extra" 10 pounds. He has lost a few but the fact that he was so close to his normal speed sort of confirms for me that he's been building up those swimming muscles (even if it does mean adding a little weight).

Rubie turns 7 in December and Moo turned 4 in March. Not spring chickens but still plenty of asshattery left

We did have fun and saw some people/dogs that I haven't crossed paths with in over a year since we haven't been training/competing in anything, really. And of course, there will be the photos

@Ravenbird

No far….about four hours west of me- near Houston. Are you going to this?

I don’t believe I can make that. My youngest daughter accepted a bid for college soccer. I have been training her and will continue on through beginning of Jan when she reports to the team.

How far are you from Mesa, Az?

Are you going to this?
Hahaha, no. I just saw it and thought you were pretty close and didn't want you to miss it if it was something you wanted to do.

about 5 hours. Is that where your daughter is going?

I'm really in the middle of nowhere, about halfway between Tucson and El Paso but 1 1/2 hrs north of the interstate, so never a quick trip for me to go anywhere.

No, she will be attending a local college about 1hr away- easy access and travel to home if and when she wants.

Was asking about Mesa because if we wanted, she could play in a big showcase in Mesa.

Last year it was in Riverside, Cal- we went and had a great time. I just saw that they moved the tournament to Mesa. If you were close than that would help tip the scales for us of going out there. Prob will not go- really no reason to since she has already chosen this local college.

My wallet will be happy but deep down I am saddened because when she goes there will be no more traveling around with her. I really enjoyed that time with her.

However, it will give me more time with Ragnar and Freyja.

Boy aside from the couple local shows we have the very nearest thing from here is at least 4 hours. Even one of them that I call local is at least 2 hours away, depending on the traffic going to all of the big casinos along the way.

Well, we HAVE been missing some updates on them for quite some time. I can't remember the last time we heard stories about those pups!

Sounds familiar...

Love them all! Moo is trying, ok?! Not his fault he doesn't look graceful in slow mo 🤣🤣

I like the first two of Rubie! I like the moment of the last two but they seem a little out of focus.

OMG, Moo! Too funny! Make a collage of all of them.

Rubie, I like the 3rd one the best: eyes on the prize, ears flatted down, all seriousness. But they are all good. Worth the wait, yes?

Our kennel club had fast cat at our cluster show this weekend for the first time. It'll be back next year! We helped out all day yesterday and today so Ripley gets two free runs!

Here's her run yesterday where she broke her PB and broke 25mph!

She hasn't ran since she earned her BCAT more than a year ago, so she was super excited and a bit psycho once she heard that lure. Hubby said she almost ran into the photographer and ran right by him with a hair distance between them. Then she looped back around to come to him to be leashed up (and get one more bite on the bag) and jumped when she noticed there was a person laying on the ground 🤣.

We are going to run her tomorrow too so we will see how she does! I know it's not THE fastest a dobe has ever ran but very cool to see her break 25mph now that she is mature, it was a little uphill too! I know I wouldn't want to be the one trying to outrun her 😱

It's amazing how they never forget - bet she goes even faster tomorrow! Hope there was lots of interest and excitement for the clubs first fast cat and they continue to do it. Such a great - and easy! - sport to participate in. Not so much winning or losing, just having a great time.

Revel made his debut in Fast Cat doing two fun runs and fun he had! The first run he was more interested in playing with the lady 😂 but figured it out half way. By the walk back he was keened in watching the lure get reset. I didn't hear exactly what his time was since she was talking to me but it was 8 something!

Then Rip got another new PB, this time in the rain! She broke below 8 seconds at 25.88mph!! 🌪️

And how cute are these?! They give out little bunnies for personal bests!

Oh so they are old enough to do that now? Someone asked me about going with them to one but I wasn't sure if Elroy was old enough yet. She has an IG so I bet he'd do great.

Nice run Revel!

Only if it is a fun run! They don't always have them so you would have to check first. They have to be 12 months to run officially to get a Q.

Sounds about right! 😆

The last video of Rip grabbing the bag at the end  That Dober brain was thinking I’m running out of space to kill this thing!

Good to know. I was more wondering about the growth plates but on soft ground like that it should be okay.
