I’ve held off saying anything online, a couple of you know. ;)

Friday we are headed up the hill (the pass and snow situation permitting) to meet a one year old female Dober that needs a home.

Now, we HAD planned to go up yesterday, but Rocky had other ideas.

A year ago he had some intestinal issues.
The story is here Rocky’s guts

Yesterday morning he was almost an exact duplicate other than the drooling.
I highly suspect (I know he has) he’s got into fallen apples, the late bloomers that the wind is finally knocking down.
That thread was a year ago and two weeks. More than coincidence.
The tail tuck, the low hanging head, shivering/trembling, more than normal affection as well as self isolation outside. He was just not feeling well.

As much as we wanted to go see this girl we couldn’t leave him like that.

Cut his dinner in half, cut this morning breakfast too.
He seems fine today.
:censored:Hole!!

So Friday, weather and roads and Rocky’s guts permitting we try again.

The girl.

I’m told is one year old.
And I’m told, a blue:love:
Some of you know I have a soft spot for blue girls. Another story for another thread.

Looks like she might be a TV watcher, lol.

First off, glad to hear Rocky is showing signs of normality. What they like?

Secondly, what an absolute beauty, Gel! Those eyes
What a new year for us, huh? Deacon, Jemma’s Hungarian Rescue is coming on the 10th January. It’s all getting very real now

I'm glad Rocky is doing better and he would definitely love a new little girl to come in and boss him around again. ;)
She's a cutie and I hope it works out for you all!

Ooh, excited for you guys too!

She looks very sweet, although I do hate the head halter but that is just me. Hope you can make it this time.
I promise you this.
If she lives here she will never wear that contraption again.

Edit...
She looks red to me in the photos?
With some blue frost around the eyes, ears, and a little in the snout.
I suppose seeing her in person will tell.
Not “blue!” Like some me I’ve seen?

Is trivial in the end.
Want to see “who she is” most. :)

Is there a thread? Post a link!

In the first pic she looked more black to me, but agree the color is hard to tell from the shots. Can’t wait to hear what you find out about her in person, how exciting for you!

:wow::wow::wow:So exciting! She really looks like a sweetheart in the pics and I really hope she lives up to expectations. Fingers crossed and have a good trip to see her. Also hope Rocky continues to improve. Next year you might have to make cider before he gets into those windfalls!

How cool for you and your family.

It's often hard to tel in pics with Dobes whether it's a Blue or a Red. She seems to have interesting coloration around the eyes – a bit of a mask-like effect.

Are you hoping she will be real confident and bold?

I know they often say the bitches rule the roost; but with the first male/female arrangement my wife and I had, my male Dobe was aloof with her female Husky and she was always wanting him to play and he was the serious one and definitely not ruled by her. When he eventually died, and I got another male Doberman the roles were essentially reversed. That boy was always wanting/trying to make her play and she was mostly aloof to him. They did have this hilarious thing where, I guess my Dobe liked to come up and chew on her hind leg, and over time it evolved into she would go back up into him and hold up her leg for him to chew – feeding him her leg.

She has a beautiful blue hair coat Gel.

looks very healthy and I love the yoga and tv watching!!

Are you taking Rocky to meet her? I sure hope this works out for you and that face and her eyes just absolutely grab your heart!
Wow what a beauty. She and handsome Rocky boy will make quite the striking pair.

Not taking him for the first meeting.
I’d like to see who she is first.
Rocky may be too much for her.
She, may be too much for Rocky:D

If I like what I see and feel she has enough inner Bitch in her, lol.
Then we can drag Rocky up there.
He absolutely hates vehicle travel.

Poor Rocky, I hate that he gets so stressed with vehicle rides.
The only dog I’ve every had that trembled and was fearful while being in a vehicle was Maddie, the 12yo Beagle I adopted. I always thought she was afraid she was being returned to the shelter as she was returned multiple times for behavioral issues and it left an impression on her. I finally got her used to it by taking the pups with her to areas they could play and explore. She thought the pups were her babies so she had to go and protect them. It was heartbreaking to see her shake so badly. I took her with me a lot and would give her treats and then come back home. She learned after a while that she wasn’t going to be abandoned again every time we drove somewhere. It was a lot of patience and reassurances to get her to tolerate it. The twins were the biggest help with that.
