new pics of Diablo

Aww, he's quite the guard dog and so cute! :)
His ears are coming along nicely so I'm sure once you're done posting they'll look really nice. You might need a bumper in the right ear since it's pulling in a bit, but I can't tell from the photo if he's developing a pocket or not, but they're still looking pretty good for 4 months. :)

Thanks for sharing!

he looks so chilled out in the car, Bella dose a bit of pacing as she usually only goes in the car when we are going for a good walk to the beach or up the fells

If he is only 4 months those ears need to stay posted. Once the fall it is twice as hard to get them back up and to stand. They must be supported a minimum of 5 to 6 months of age when teething is mostly done.

But the crop does look nice so now you want to stay after it so they stand correctly.

I agree with Suzan, post those ears. leave them posted for 4-5 days, take the post of, clean the ears, let them dry and air out for a bit and post right back. Please make sure those ears are very well stretched when you post them. Stretch them when you wiggle the post into the ears, so he wont become pockets, because it does like he is going to, next thing you need to make sure that you don't unfold the natural fold on those ears. Andyes you have to keep posting minimum they are done teething, sometimes longer and if you think, you might be done, post for 4 more weeks, better safe then then sorry.

I don't know how you post or what methode you use, but here is one, i always use and it discripe it very well step for step with pic's

I replyed eariler to this ,dont know what happend to it so here goes again. My Vet croped him a day or two before 12 weeks,he wouldnt do it any sooner. Im still posting, but vet told me to wait a day or two so the sore behind his right ear can heal a little,he had a bad reaction to the new tape i bought.Im having to put SILVADINE on it,which no tape will stick to.You can see the sore a little on the (ride to PETCO) pic.As to him riding good in car,he rides to PETCO once a week for toy or bone, and he has a girlfriend there too.But he rides everywhere with me all the time.

Aww, how sweet that he even had a little gal friend there...

I can see the sore you're referring to in that pic, so I can see where it would be kind of hard to tape around it, but I'm sure they'll be fine once you resume again, even though you lose about a week of progress for every day of keeping them down. I'm not sure what kind of tape you're using, but I've always had excellent luck with the Curity porous tape, so if you haven't tried it, that might be worth a shot. :) Like I said, they're already looking really nice for such a short time after the crop, so I hope his sore heals fast so you can keep him on the road to such nice ears. :)

It is far more important that yhoukeep them posted. If there is a sore then I cut a cotton pad in half - put neosporin on it and put it over the sore then tape as usualy but the piece of cotton past protects the ear.
At 12 weeks you are already approaching the end of the window for optimum stand. So get to posting Vets are not that knowledgable on ears or posting.

lol, love the long ride to petco... Karma has that paaaainfulllll look too when ever we are driving to far somewhere..

But as for the posting, I wouldnt panic to bad, Fate got parvo at about 16-18 weeks, after i had them cropped at 12...needless to say i was not posting her ears the entire two weeks she was practically dying from parvo... i thought i would NEVER get her ears to stand straight after that because they were bending in such odd spots, I even waited til she got some weight back on her to post... and they came out fine, you just may need to post a lil longer, but really that doesnt hurt anyways to do :)

before parvo

After a while I just let her be, I am happy with them tho, I think I was lucky to get them to look the way they do now compared to how they looked before..

I looove the one where he is 'guarding the car'. LOL So cute.

Oh no hrd2gt, I didn't know your baby had Parvo. That is such a horrible thing to go through. My good friend lots a Whippet puppy to Parvo and the other one pulled through but they had lots of issues for a while after. I'm glad she pulled through. :)

oh yea, i dropped ALOT of money that first year of her life, she is the most expensive free dog I ever had... what was crazy, is she had like 3 or 4 (i cant remember, want to say 3) shots already... she wasnt very young. There is a thread about it, it will break your heart the pictures of my lil boney girl. I was so devastated I took a whole week off from work to see her several times throughout the day while she was locked up in quarantine at the vets...

Thanks to all.Diablo's posted again now,he wasnt posted this past thur & fri .Hopfully his ears will turn out ok.My Vet was more worried about the infection, then the look of the ears, cause he didnt want to put Diablo back on antibotics.Diablo had just came off antibotics when we found the sore from bacteria in the raw ground deer meat ive been mixing with his kibble.:)

I don't blame him a bit there and you certainly don't want a sick dog for the sake of perfect ears. As stated, don't worry you still have plenty of time and I'm sure they'll come out very nice. :)
