Doberman puppy owners - track your weight gain here

10 months old today, in heat (my boyshorts were the best to use for her, lol), but putting on weight again. Mila's current at 55.2 lbs.

I was so worries she'd be crazy at this stage, but so far a wonderous calm has come over her for the most part.

She seems to be filling out in her hip and thigh area, as well as her front muscles (front legs). Not TOO much, but noticeable.

Lily turns 3 months old tomorrow. She is 15" tall but a bit thin. She weighs only 7.3 kg. I can't figure out what is wrong in her diet.

There may be nothing wrong in her diet. Pups grow in such weird stages. They can look thin but a closer look tells you they just grew in height.
A hearty appetite on a good quality food with steady growth is what you are looking for.
If you are concerned, keeping track of her growth by weighing and measuring her on a regular basis is a good idea. I just write it on a calendar. As you look back through your notes you'll see the growth pattern.
A look at any one moment in time, any pup can look thin, it's the over all growth pattern that matters IMHO.

She was an always hungry girl but seems to be losing her appetite. I feed her kibbles. Should I try some other food for her.

What food is she on?
It's not unusual for pups to get distracted at feeding time and seem uninterested. Try putting her food down for 10-15 minutes. Then pick out up till next feeding time. She will soon learn it's time to eat, I better do this before it's gone.

Here are the side and above angles of Atlas I wanted to post. He will be 16 weeks old this Saturday! Not sure of his exact weight at the moment. Those poor hips just look so thin, but as I said earlier I am just not used to having such a lean dog.
Looks good to me, he will fill out as time goes by 1yr maybe

Thought I'd share this here for a great bod shot of her growth. Yesterday or so she weighed in at 55. Nearing end of Mila's heat too.

(ignore the news on tv, she was watching her gramma {my mom} go outside so I grabbed the shot while I could, lol. Cheyenne is the Shih Tzu by her feet. And Cheyenne is one of our bigger ones too - she's 13 lbs.)

That's Della's average weight too and I think it's perfect for a girl.

See my problem is I'm "used to" bigger. Gretchen was about 75, and really mischa doesnt look that light. My friend was over when we got home yesterday and he even said really? Thats all she weighs? So I shouldn't be so focused on a number as long as shes happy and healthy!

Wouldn't weighing less prolong their life anyway?

Not exactly. It's all about healthy weight. Which varies greatly from dog to dog. Bone size, structure, height, etc all factor in. What is a good weight for one dog that is say, 27", may not be ideal for the next.

As an example. My lab is 75 pounds and 23" (if I remember correctly). He is lean and muscular. By some standards, underweight even. My moms lab mix, who is right around the same height, would be grossly over weight at 75 pounds. She has a much smaller frame and bone structure.

I probably should've included that I meant healthy weight and all that too. Sorry about that. I was thinking of how small dogs typically live longer than Great Danes, so maybe SIZE would be a better term to use.

He's heavier than Nero at 10 months. You neutered quite early.
