Doberman puppy owners - track your weight gain here

Great photo of the Albert-ster.... and what did he end up weighing in at, at the last weigh in?
I am guessing he probably is closer to 90 lbs now... what is he at 88-90? are his ears free of stays now? or still using breath right strips?
Thanks Diva! I still haven't gotten him weighed since he was 10 month or so, but I'm guessing 90# is pretty accurate. His ears are pretty good on their own, but once in a while if he sleeps hard on that left side I'll have to put a breathe right in again for a while. Darn long crops... ;)
How's Bubba doing now?

Jan: Baba is a BIG boy now... fully aware that he is a HE with cajones! He is coming into being quite the confident dude. He was so shy and so fearful at the dog park he used to hide behind me... now he is big and ballsy in public with any dog that he thinks are 'pussies' and he wants to make sure they know he is a big boy... He is very calm, cool and collected, but those HACKLES go up and he stands up on tip toes and rumbles a growl from his nutz! He is not aggressive, but he has serious CONFIDENCE... ballsy calm assertive boy... :)
he is still around 94-95 lbs... exactly 27" tall... on the money... and he is so agile and athletic, leaping tall buildings with a single bound is no problem for him! :)

Here I thought she was done for a while....she proved me wrong.;)

I'm not real sure in her latest height measurement....she was extremely wiggly. I weighed her twice not believing she had gained again.

I wish I had started a measurement on the deepness of her chest when she was small. She continues to grow in the deepness of her chest as well as her neck. She has started to broaden her chest too.

Man oh man.....I missed the "training bra" as well as "B" & "C" cup parties but I'll tell you this folks.....I'm not missing the "D" cup party on her chest for nothing!!! :lmao:

Mark:
Great pic of Ozzy, but he looks to be about to launch himself forward, so he is squatting a bit there which gives him more angulation than would be seen in a proper stack. You can see he is bending at his hocks to leap forward for that sleeve! He is focused and great attention to that sleeve! He has turned into an impressive figure of a boy at her year mark... He could and most likely will trim down a bit if you keep working him as he is and be at a more 'working weight' at probably around 10 lbs less than he is now... He still has his puppy thickness to him in his mid section and his rib cage. If you were to put him into full scale work mode, he will most likely lean up a bit...
I still feel that He is more than likely as tall as he is going to get and I guessed him right on the money and I am also going to predict that between now and when he is around 2.5 yrs old he is going to lean up a bit...
He has no rib outlines visible and this is still just his 'puppy bloom/glow' to him.. he is still intact is he not? He is not neutered?
If not then he will get more tightly pulled together as you keep working him and I am going to guess that he matures at the height he is now, but he will actually weigh less... he could easily be around 10 lbs leaner as a working Schutzund dog because the ribs should be visible slightly.. the last 3 ribs near the waist line start to show up as they mature and lose that puppy bloom weight.
His head has turned out to be so very nice and his ears look so great.. so nice and flat against his cheeks.... and his topline is lovely... his tail set just right and I love his gentle looking face when you see him straight on... it reminds me of Baba.. as Baba has that sweetness to his face. You would not ever guess he could be a 'tough guy' around other males.. but he has come 'into his own' recently and he does get a bit testy with other males who just 'turn on his maleness" for one reason or another!
The ozzster is a pretty damn impressive dude and the UK has a marvelous addition to the Doberman working world with him! Keep up that work! looking Good Dude!

Lol thanks for your comments Diva, I agree that Ozzy needs to lose some weight and as you say now he's maturing I'm hopeful he will naturally lose that puppy fat. I'm also thinking of biking him when the weather cools down, atm he will have to do with his daily walks and all that ball chasing he does. At the Shutz club last Saturday we had a visiting Dobermann judge and Schutz fanatic; one of a handful of ppl in the UK to get a Schutzhund qualification on a Dobe, he watched Ozzy work and said that for just a year old he's working great considering he's a big dog, he will tire quicker than a 27 inch Dobe so get the best out of him with short sharp sessions. I was happy with that assessment and totally agree. :D

Ok it's been awhile and whoa baby how much she's grown! Last time I weighed her was 10 weeks ago! I took her to PetSmart today and bought her a new bed. The poor baby has out grown the cat bed haha!

Her after getting weighed. Jaidyn said "Uh Mom, I can't buckle". Lol

Mark: I do not think it would be considered 'fat' when these young European bloodline males are the thickness they are at the age that they are... males puppies usually will be naturally more mass and more dense and with the rapid rate of growth that both of our boys have gone through.. its a simple natural affect and with maturity comes the muscle 'tone' and the muscle' definition because of that testosterone rushing through their veins and brains... I have never thought or viewed Ozzy or Baba as fat, ever.. it is pure puppy bloom... and they shine are are sleek as seal skin... so, the look he has is one of a sleek adolescent male... over the next year that will turn into rippled, hard as rock musculature and is will reveal the 'adult male' he will be. A loss of 'bloom' will turn into black steel! :) He is just so incredibly handsome, and yet I still see a real 'goofy boy' in his expression so I can see the 'baby' in him in that face!

He's looking great Suzan! I've been looking for an updated pic of him now, so thanks for sharing! I love all of the other latest pics too and it's so hard to believe how fast they're all growing!

9 months 26.4kg (58lb) ~62cm / 24.5"
9.5 months 27.5kg (60.5lb)

Really happy that Ashra has not had any weight loss or worms etc. for a whole month now, and although I think she needs to put on another 1.5-2kg (3.5-4.5lb) to cover up the front ribs (which are still showing lightly >_< it's "okay", but I personally do not like ribby dogs other than seeing the last one or two, especially in pups) and the deep hollows near her chest bone, she at least no longer looks like I am starving her! :yatta: I've been trying to work her more to build up the muscle mass she lost while "in quarantine" and so she's burning off most of the energy in her extra food. The weight gain is thus slower than if I were to fatten her up with silk balls, but as long as there's no more loss and she's healthy and wormfree:fingersx: I'm happy.

Relaxing after an intensive 3 hour session of fun at the park ;)

Whoops, no photo of the K-Monster today, they're in the camera at home.

She has officially started her first heat cycle as of a couple of days ago, pretty close to her 1-year mark. The old incontinence army blankets are back out on furniture, that's easier than dog panty usage for now. No behavioral challenges so far, she's staying her usual self. A chastity belt like Asha's thong would be pretty handy right about now!
