FastCat

Ran 2 more today. Absolute lunatic when we arrived and only one other Doberman who was well behaved. It was much easier to blend in at the last race, 11 Dobermans there lol.

Rained all night so the grounds were soft. Maybe that’s why she was a little slower, both runs the same time!

Very glad we went and she’s still wound up!

Photo is posting upside down too, idk why.

Feeling the addiction of ribbons yet? I can tell you it bit me early on.

So... the THING about Rosettes... is some clubs have WAY better ones than what I would call a 'standard' Rosette and I'll admit... I started to get a little picky at some point lol I'm not sure I ever specifically picked or avoided an agility, barn hunt, or Fast CAT trial based on their ribbons but I did feel a little extra sense of urgency to get titled at a particular trial if they had exceptional ribbons (more so agility and barn hunt as our Q rate was iffy)

The Beautiful Teal and Black title rosette is just stunning and a far fry from the BCAT Rosette in the Middle. We also got the teal ribbon the on the far left with the Teal and Black rosette.

And yes, these are just hanging in the mud room above the washer and dryer. Apparently never got consolidated to our 'wall' in the basement 🤣

I have found many clubs starting out have to be a bit conservative, but as you grow, the rosettes start getting a little fancier. I almost fell over at Olive's reserve BIS ribbon last fall since they never used to be anywhere near that big or beautiful, but the club is well established now so they've tried to improve everything.

My flat Q ribbons I put with the titles in my notebook (title goes in the clear page holders and the flat Q ribbons on the backside. The Title rosesettes are in a shoebox 🙄. I've seen people at Scent Work get a photo with their ribbons and then hand them back to the trial secretary. I guess they have enough, and if I had multiple dogs collecting these all year I'd probably do the same.

But first dog I've ever trialed & titled? Yeah. I write the date and details on the back, get pictures at home with them and then put them away. Only thing on the wall is the little wood plaque for my BH.

That's what I've been doing with the flat ribbons the past few years too since I really don't display them and it does help the club out. If they're unique I keep them but otherwise they all start looking the same.

Yeah, the rosettes can vary quite a bit by club! The ones I posted are from a FastCAT group called Time To Fly and they definitely offer the best rosettes in my area.

These are from conformation matches but it gives an idea of how things can vary. All are from winning the group in match shows. IMG_7399.webp I’ve done 6 matches now at 3 different clubs (all 1 year apart at the annual shows). The 2nd and 3rd ribbons were bigger this year compared to the previous one. Last year they were the size of the first flat ribbon.
