Let us know what they come up with. I'm just curious since he looks the proper size and proportion for that age.definitely pounds but on monday we are taking him to get groomed and will get him weighed and measured properly.

Willow has been sick for almost a month, the vets weren't exactly sure what it was, but in the last couple days she seems to be back to herself. Willow is in her first heat and she's just over 10 months now they weighed her in at 55lbs which is tiny isn't it. She is almost 26" at the withersView attachment 71481View attachment 71482 Willow has been sick for almost a month, the vets weren't exactly sure what it was, but in the last couple days she seems to be back to herself. Mila will be 10 months on the 19th. She's been having tummy aches a lot (stuff she gets into in the darn yard) so she too is having issues keeping weight on. Just weighed her. 54 lbs. Same height as Willow though.
Omg I know hard that is, Willow has alot of stomach issues as well. Everyone always tells me how small she is for a doberman. I think she looks ok. Has yours gone into heat yet? Nope. We're still waiting. Vet figured it may be around this time, but so far nothing. Got an updated picture just now (she's listening to neighbors). She looks good so I'm not too concerned. Healthy appetite too. We plan to spay after her heat too so we're watching for it.

That's exactly right. I've had a few tell me they're so skinny, but they're standing there with an obese dogs that has a totally different build than a Doberman.Don't give what others say a second thought. Most have the wrong vision of what a doberman should be.

Since I really like this forum and plan to stay involved in it, I'll go ahead and start tracking Atlas' weight! At his 12 week appointment he was 28.5lbs. He's going to be 15 weeks on Saturday, and I can't wait to see how he progresses as I begin keeping track. I'll post pics from above and from the side later to see what everyone thinks. I feel like he looks a bit skinny, but I have never had a doberman and don't know what they should really look like as they progress!
The ribs and bones are usually what I go by. Since like @FirstTimeDober3 she's my first, the lean look is new to me, I have noticed to pay more attention to her bone structure.
She's currently sporting human adult disposable undies, haha. Gotta find something better because they aren't meant to stay on long and they're a bit TOO big. I'ma try an old pair of mine since we wear the same size clothes in shirts, hahaha.I think some use boys underwear and insert some sort of a liner in them. Thankfully we didn't need anything with Della.Gotta find something better because they aren't meant to stay on long and they're a bit TOO big.

I think Dobermans look better lean. They are an active breed and excess weight can create health issues. I have always tried to keep all my animals lean. The skinny rat lives the longest. HahahaHere are the side and above angles of Atlas I wanted to post. He will be 16 weeks old this Saturday! Not sure of his exact weight at the moment. Those poor hips just look so thin, but as I said earlier I am just not used to having such a lean dog.
