Crop Pics - Lets see your style!

The breeder gave Rubie and her siblings show crops (some went to show homes) which was scary since it was my first time posting and I know the long crops can be fussy. Very pleased with how they turned out though! These were done by someone in Chicago.

What is the difference between a pet crop and a medium crop? BTW this dod is a carbon copy of our dog except our dog has a short crop.
Hey there!

I don't know that there is an official designation "pet crop" but I know that "show crop" is a common term, so I bet pet crop means shorter than a show crop. Show crops are quite long and usually take longer to get them to stand.

So, what is the difference between a pet crop and a medium crop? I'd say they could be the same length approximately.

My first Dobe had a short crop, which by the way, sometimes called a "military crop." I used to like to consider his crop a throwback to the earliest days of the breed. :)

Really, crops come in all different lengths.

We tried a few times but can never keep them in more than a day or two due to him slinging his head so hard. He cant stand them so I'm not sure what to do....

At 6months, I would keep posting as I don't think they are finished yet, but if you like the bend in the ears then leave them at that :)

My previous boy had ears that tilted slightly outward toward the top like that. The did tilt less when he was holding them at alert.
We've tried to post a few more times but he slings his head until he worked the post out. He'll only keep them I normally only a day or two. Any suggestions? Can I just tape without putting a post in?

I did not have ear success, but...from what I've gathered after my failure, I think that the "shaking out of the posts" has everything to do with them not being far enough in the canal. I was so worried I would hurt my boy...I ended up hurting by leaving them to loose...allowing him to move them and scrape the inside of his ears. Also...once you get them down in there (when you think they're where they need to be, push a little farther), you have to pull that ear leather to bring them up as high as you can before you tape to the post.
Please know that I am not a "know it all." As far as ears go...well...better luck next time for me!!
Also...My sister's name is Bylee Jo (rarely see Jo spelled that way.)
