You can start teaching her now.I had to teach Asha how to be carried when I wanted to do the RH test.
My problem is not so much 'teaching the dog' - It is because the one girl is so darn heavy and I is not a body builder...
You did just give me a good suggestion though as for training the new girl here to allow herself to be carried. It certainly won't hurt her and I can handle mid 50's poundage a lot easier than than a fido that is closer to 80lbs.
For peoples wondering why this sort of stuff might be important for your fido to be accustomed to -
When I had to have the oral surgery done on the one girl because she cracked a tooth it was a chore for a good many hours after picking her up from her dental surgery. Girl really could have used some help getting in and out of the truck after that surgery but because she had never been picked up before by anybody she had no idea what I was trying to do with her when I 'needed' to do it.
Dog was still drunk from those sedation drugs and I was beyond worried that if she tried to get out of the truck by herself in that state that she would faceplant into the ground.
