Soluna Dobermans

I'm late to this party but very, very exciting news! Wishing you all good luck and a litter of perfect pups. It's great to be able to watch Rips develop along the way and when she starts nesting in her whelping box I will be checking in all hours to see what's happening!

I also wonder if her attitude will change towards Stavrose and Revel when she gets nearer to whelping!

We won't let them be in the same room as her when it comes time
There were 3 times that Asha gave a nasty warning to Reckless and one was when Asha was in the "nesting phase" about a month after her heat had ended. She was standing by my chair in the office and Reckless walked by her bed on the floor about 3 feet away, giving it a sniff as she walked by it. Asha whirled toward her with an nasty growl/teeth-baring rrraahhhh, which I'd never seen in all her years. So yeah, Ripley will most likely be a fierce momma!

So exciting, especially now that you can start to visually tell she’s pregnant!

Now to see how many puppies she has!
Its amazing how much she's changed in just a few days. Can't believe she still has 4 more weeks to go and how much bigger she'll continue to get!

We saw 3 puppies on ultrasound so we know at least 3... I've been told that the ultrasound is solely good to confirm pregnancy as its hard to see much. But we do know there are 3! I'm hoping for 6...maybe 8 the most. :D We'll find out a much better count when we xray on the 6th! The stud owner warned me since she started showing so early under 4 weeks that she's gonna have quite a few. :woot2:

She's definitely changed a lot in a week. So exciting.

OT but did you see Tiffany's girl? Even though she's due within a week, it's still an oof.

Ripley is gorgeous!
Thank you. I tell her every day

Yesterday. The bigger she gets the more her head looks like its shrinking :p

Gma got her a new blankie. She is a very happy girl right now.

Then last night we moved her to her box for sleeping at night. She usually sleeps in our bed but she insists on sleeping under the covers with us and I feel she is getting a touch too warm lately with the babies in there.

I slept on an air mattress in there with her to help her adjust. She did a little whining when she saw me pulling the blankets over "mommy please can I sleep with you?" But she eventually settled in.

It was funny to hear her rearranging the blankets with her mouth and feet to get everything just right.

6 weeks this coming up Sunday. 3 weeks to go...

So sweet...

I see you're already prepared with supplies next to the whelping box so you're pretty much ready. I have that same drawered container for fish supplies myself.

Yes! I knew I wanted the important things right there. I'm ordering the last bit of things tonight then I have everything set specifically for whelping. I have a bunch of excess rags, pee pads and other assortments in the nearby walk-in closet in the bathroom. I still need a few more 24" kennels for crate training the pups and other fun things for once they are weaned for puppy rearing but I still have a bit of time before then!
