Olive and Elroy's dad just sired a litter of 13 and I can't imagine either.I’ve seen some huge litters of 12-13 puppies. I can’t imagine having that many, especially as they get bigger!

We couldn't do it without you!Literally! Here in time for the main event, luckily!!!
I stand by my choice! Do they always see all the pups on ultrasound?So... what do we think? Anyone want to change their guesses?Rip Thursday on her daily jaunt outside for exercise.

She's tricky. It'll be interesting to see how many they see on Monday!!
No definitely not the ultrasound. Ultrasound is good for confirmation of pregnancy but not number of pups while X-ray usually yes they will be able to see everything by then since it is taken so late in gestation. It can rarely be off by one puppy if they are over one another but usually you can count all spines and skulls.I stand by my choice! Do they always see all the pups on ultrasound?
I'll stick with my guess of 8. She's looking like it could be more, but then I haven't seen very many dogs, much less Dobes that are this close to whelping. Maybe they're that big even carrying 4 or 5?So... what do we think? Anyone want to change their guesses?![]()
Shes very happy and healthy! Her demeanor hasn't changed...just as spunky as ever. She looks happy and healthy - is her demeanor changing?
Dare I say, more so? If only I could trial her right now, her attention and responsiveness to me is so snappy. She has been sleeping in her whelping box alone for the past 2-3 weeks but last night she demanded that one of us sleep in the same room as her. She would not let up on her little yip barks. So we figured may as well set our spare mattress up in there in preparation for when we do sleep in there with her probably for all of next week and into the first week after the puppies are here. She quieted right down once I joined her like all was well...
Give her some extra! When Kaiser acts like he’s starving I’ll give him some bread and milk LOL. I figure it’s light enough but filling so that he can feel a bit fuller without really eating a lot. She's eating 4x a day now so I know shes not actually hungry, but those pregnancy cravings got her acting wild.![]()
Well I would but I've been on stool watch while slowly increasing her food and she gets loose stools with any more than she's eating. Did you know a majority of dogs are lactose intolerant? Milk usually gives them the runsGive her some extra! When Kaiser acts like he’s starving I’ll give him some bread and milk LOL. Oh definitely don’t want to upset that tummy! I thought it was just cats that were lactose intolerant. Our cat can’t handle any dairy. Kaiser can eat everything but tomatoes.Well I would but I've been on stool watch while slowly increasing her food and she gets loose stools with any more than she's eating.
