Congratulations again! I am so, so happy for you guys!I'M SO EXCITED to share the news!!!
Saturday in Madison, WI out of the Open Black class, Ripley and Derek won WB for a FIVE POINT MAJOR (she won over 36 bitches), and then BOW (over 9 additional dogs, totaling over 45 dogs!!!), under judge Ms. Jan C. Sigler at the Illini Doberman Pinscher Specialty as an Owner Handler!!!!!!
WB = Winner's bitch. All the 1st place girls from each class compete against one another to see who the judge feels meets the breed standard the closest.
BOW = Best of Winners. The Winners Dog and Winners Bitch get to go back in the breed ring and compete against one another (and potentially all the specials, which are Champions and Grand Champions) to see who earns BOW.
One more major to go until her Championship! She only needed two 3 pt majors (less girls won over for a 3 pt) but I guess Ripley wanted to win a big one! And at a specialty so we got really pretty ribbons!

I can’t believe the amount of bitches it takes for a 5 point major lol! I know you and Derek must be so proud, especially for getting that big win owner-handled!

I couldn't believe it when the judge pointed at them. It was like a huge relief to finally have her and him be seen! I literally just messaged a long time breed judge that morning to ask her to give me her opinion on Ripley again and ask why she was being overlooked, and asked if we were crazy trying to finish her. I was reassured that she was VERY correct and that many judges get confused when they see a girl like her. They'll often pick the girl with many flaws over her, purely because of substance. They'll often pick the longer, or taller, bigger, girl and not the square one (which our breed standard says they are to be square). She reassured me she's very deserving of her CH and more. Sad that judges won't pick more correct purely because she's only slightly more refined when it took ONE generation to add substance where it could take decades to fix faults! Ripley is also not small...she's 26" at the withers. So any other girl out there that looks bigger than her is out of standard.
