Thank you! I’d like to take credit but it’s mostly just the way he is . He barks a little at other dogs sometimes and always wants to visit and make friends but that is his only vice. I’ve heard from GSD folks that his East German working lines often produce unflappable dogs, thankfully he seems to have acquired that trait.

Always by my side, this is a picture the girl with the dobies took. I recommended her to the forum!

I don’t know if they are all East German GSDs that I’m seeing in the 2 working dog clubs we’ve been at, but “unflappable” is a great description of how they are. I feel like they will do anything their owners ask of them. They are rather fearless in that regard, less of a sense of self preservation too, more eager to be a tireless soldier, and gain/retain the approval of their master.

Thank you @MyBuddy! He makes me proud for sure . East German are DDR dogs, DDR is an abbreviation for a long complicated German word LOL but it’s easier to say East German. There’s also west German working lines and also west German show lines, which are typically much richer red in pigment than American show dogs. There’s also Czech lines that are often mixed in with DDR, it’s so rare for a pure DDR dog that there’s debate whether they even exist anymore.

In my very limited experience, Rio just wants to please me and do what I ask because making me happy makes him happy. Brinks is just as smart and capable but he needs a little more negotiating, sort of like “alright but what’s in it for me?” Brinks is fairly equal between my boyfriend and I but Rio would leave him in an instant. I am totally his person and no one else matters.

The other day Kali jumped up into this chair on the deck. It was the first time she had ever done that. She look like the little queen bee.


Then the other day we were working on the deck and I turn around and she is up there again. Not that it's bad. It was just so unexpected. She's never sat on those chairs in 8 years!



Maybe because I would throw them on the deck for them to lay on so now she thinks they're hers!

I saw this at Walmart and HAD to have it. I’ve had such a struggle with mud being tracked into the house with three dogs! Brinks seems to think it’s a new chew toy :eye roll:

I saw that online and thought it’s a great idea. If I had 3 dogs, I’d do Brinks last haha.

Lol it reminds me of my nail varnish remover. Stick my finger in, give a little wiggle and voila!!!

Thats is a great idea I need one too. My backyard gets so wet after it rains Jasper tracks everything into the house.

It was only $10! I saw them online too and they had great reviews, and you can’t beat the price and not have to wait for shipping. It’s supposed to be storming tonight so it will be tested out shortly!

This is one of the biggest differences between Moose and Rubie. Moose will do whatever I ask him to all day long. Rubie will comply for a while then could not care less unless the reward it very high. #1 reason I'm excited to start agility with Moose

I’m at work so can’t get a pic but the inside is filled with soft rubber bristles, you just fill it up with water and twist back and forth around their paw. It was actually beautiful weather yesterday instead of torrential downpours like it called for so I didn’t get to use it. But in the reviews I’ve read people said their dogs liked it and that it sort of massages their paws.

I’m waiting to hear back from the agility instructor on the date for the next class for Rio! I believe my friend -may- also join in.

This little guy was SO HAPPY yesterday. not that he isn't everyday We did get him down a pound or two which the vet said was crucial to keeping his elbows healthy. My svelte little man!

Jasper was enjoying some air out time by taking a nap yesterday. I had his ears out for most of the day without issues and they feel hard up to the tip. But his canines are still coming in and I'm waiting for the last two baby teeth to fall out. Im hoping they will come out on their own by 7mths or so. I rather not have them extracted.
