Doberman puppy owners - track your weight gain here

Audrey paws are huge bigger than any adult dog in the park. I am OK from 65-85 is great size.
Some female dobermans they could be around 100 lbs with euro blood line Siberian Dobis are huge but they have extremely big chest she dose not.
Female Rottweiler could be up to 110 we will see guys. :) @Regalis

I think you might be exaggerating. Serbian Dobes are big but I've never seen a female at 100lbs. Many of the Serbian males are around 100lbs. My boy is a Serbian import. The max he reached (so far) was 94lbs. That was before I put him on a diet and cut back his food. Now he's down to 85(ish) which is much better for a working (IPO) Dobe.

They would be out of standard even in Europe if they're that big.
Technically there's no weight limit on the standard only height. A female within the height standard and at 100lb would be fat and unhealthy to say the least.

When I was searching for my doberman one of the Ontario breeders who is not registered claimed her female doberman are 100 lbs and Siberian blood line doberman. I saw the females pictures and puppy massive. Puppy was 18 lbs 8 weeks!
If you guys interested I can look her contact but I find out they not healthy and live around 9 years. Even she was asking for 1200-1500 ears not cropped. I almost got it from her. Because it was my budget. Then moved on.
Also another breeder in Ontario who sells protection dobermans Italian blood line male doberman champion blood line asking for 4500$ he health guarantee 6 years and training was extra. Claimed 100 lbs for male. Also you were not allowed to breed nor spay or neutralize the dogs! Otherwise no health guarantee.
I personally like to see Audrey around 70 lbs.
If you interested I can go and find the contacts. However I did not see the puppies and parents in person only pictures.
I like a healthy dog really don't care. At the end 6 month search and got miss Audrey. :)
Ps: I am 214 lbs 5'10" am I not standard and fat? :-( lol

I looked at the FCI standard that Vera sent me and it does have both height and weight.

Height
Males 68-72 cm
Females 63-68 cm

Weight
Males 40-45 kg
Females 32-35 kg

The latter side way too heavy IMHO, especially for a working dog.
Drogon looks good BTW. I think his weight loss will pay off as his career unfolds.
Scares me (and makes me hurt) to see those heavy dogs land those jumps.

Well I am not advertising anyone not sure how are the rules but this her I just searched it she was claiming 100 lbs female. I got almost ears not done 1500. Dam now I want a male doberman in red:
Doberman puppies with ears cropped | dogs, puppies for rehoming | Belleville | Kijiji
Those Doberman's are overweight and not breeding material. That's also more of a military crop rather than a medium and not a good look for a Doberman. You can do much better if you're ever in the market for another pup.

Thank you @JanS indeed they chunky :)
I am not ready now. Next March maybe need to focus on Audrey at the moment and plan moving off of the city or a house in the city. It is a shame people love Audrey. Need a yard for certain training or a car we see.
Little rat just peed on the floor while I was putting my rain jacket on. In an angle I missed. Unbelievable....
Took all her toys away for 30 min and vacuuming! She is still mad at morning rain. Everyone was saying she is stubborn today.
Back on subject on pic you see her 2 ribs I think it is perfect and her paws are huge.
She won this round I guess. ;-)

The actual FCI Standard includes the word 'about' and there's no fault listed for weight, only height.

SIZE AND WEIGHT
:
Height at the withers: Males:
68 – 72 cm.
Females: 63 – 68 cm.
Medium size desirable.
Weight:
Males: about 40 – 45 kg.
Females: about 32 – 35 kg.

Yeah, those are definitely over weight. And something about them just seems off. Can't quite put my finger on what though (not the ears, though definitely not a fan of the military crop)

Kaizer was ~45 pounds at 15 weeks.

But the important thing to remember is that he is mixed. As is Audrey. I know for a fact he is dobe/rott. My gut instinct is Audrey has something else in her mix. Kaizer will never be an agility dog because he is so massive. While I do plan to do some agility with him, we will largely be staying away from jumps as his size is just not suitable for it and it's not worth the risk to his joints. I also don't plan to even consider teaching him until he is atleast 18 months, at which point I will have a better idea what he is more suited for. I still haven't gotten a chance to get him to the store for a current weight. He's a hefty boy. His chest is currently 33 inches, about 29-30 inches tall (I have a hard time measuring height for some reason) and right around 100 pounds is my guess. If he was pure dobe, he'd be overweight and probably"fat" looking. I think he looks about right. Not too thin. Not fat. He looks like an adolescent male who hasn't started to fill out yet.

These are photos from when he was 15 weeks. IMG_20170525_193006.webp IMG_20170525_192949.webp IMG_20170525_193031.webp

He looks so sweet. Thx for going all the way in your fb to share.
To be honest my focus is to make sure she is confident. Not having litter experience dealing with none consideret people all the time as well as I being protective male, she is too sweet to survive without me. Changing direction with abit of balance and making sure she is happy is the goal don't care about her bikini size! ;-)

I had only glanced at their standard until got the link from Vera. I do find it fascinating how detailed it is yet relatively few faults.
I'm pretty sure they measure height but I wonder now if there's a scale to weigh each dog. Does any breed have a weight fault? I can't remember ever seeing a scale at a conformation but they could certainly do that 'back stage' for all I know.

I have never seen a scale and the only time I have seen dogs measured is for a breed survey.

I just find it kind of silly there is so much detail in the standard and no fault for if something deviates. What's the point of putting it in the standard?

Kijiji in Canada is just like Craigslist in the USA. There are sometimes good apples on there, but a high quality breeder won't list on there unless it's a direct link to their website.

Nero is kinda boney right now and there isnt much I can do when he's just not eating. I can see his butt bones and his spine a little. I've debated changing up his food again. He's like Oji with a thin chest, which is not like his parents. I can only hope he will fill out some as he gets older. I've thought about investing in a dog walker to help him get more excercise.
