Doberman puppy owners - track your weight gain here

My Dobey is 6 months and 3 weeks. Can anyone tell me if this Is a correct way to measure? My big boy weighs 66 pounds! :)

That is a pretty neat way. I've not seen it done that way in particular. Just make sure, of course, that the pen is horizontal, and you take the reading from the bottom edge of the pen.

Another option: take the ruler and place it on his withers and have him next to a wall on which you can make a mark. Make the mark on the wall, then release the hound. Then measure that mark's height.

But what happened to Della? Why does that table end?
I think I just kept updating in the thread itself since she was pretty young then. She would have been 13 now but we lost her in 2020.

Finally got gilly back to the vet!! He has slowed down his weight, which I'm glad of, because I have to crate him in a 42" crate in my car when we train, and it works for now but could get very tight very quickly lol! (He has a bigger travel crate when we stay overnight somewhere)

He’s a big guy! My Mason kept growing until he was about 2. Or more. They continue to change and bulk up in the early years! Mason is 95 - 100. My Sabre is 80. So glad you are having fun with Gilly!

Well I can jump back in this thread now to keep track.

It'll be fun to watch them grow together in size. I know if we ever missed a week with Ripley I could just count on Phoebe's weigh in, haha.

LOL it was pretty much the same with me. You weighed 2 days later than me so it could be that they're neck and neck.

His weight doesn't surprise me as he was a little underweight visually compared to what Id like. He went through a random spell of soft stools so I ended up backing off of his food and adding pumpkin to try and normalize them again. Finally got him back to solid stools and back to feeding 2.25c a day over 3 meals. Hoping I can increase it by a 1/4c in a few days without being too much like before.

He eats a hair over 3c a day... he's getting really active now! Starting to enter my favorite stage where he has drive and interest in training 😄

Hi Everyone,
Is it normal for an 8 week old female American Doberman to only weigh 8.2 lbs? I am looking at the weights you all are posting and it seems like she is about half the weight of your dogs. This is her at Christmas. I know all dogs are different, but I definitely remember my last Dobie princess being bigger.
