Doberman puppy owners - track your weight gain here

I noticed the food you are using is bison. My breeder told me to stay away from beef based kibble while they are a puppy. Anybody else have an opinion on beef based kibble for puppies? Is your pup allergic to chicken?

That's interesting. Maybe because of the lower protein? I think chicken is higher if I remember correctly. Better for growing pups. Mila's food is chicken. She loves it, no issues w allergies.

We use the pacific puppy because I like the extra omega oils. It's really dry where I live and dandruff and dry skin is just a way of life. I plan on adding some oils to his food when I'm on twice a day feeding schedule.

Beef typically has more fat and is less lean
Buffalo (Bison) has less fat than chicken and more protein

If choosing between a beef based, bison based, and chicken based food, I would choose bison.

I've never heard that before but I'd be curious why.

she won't eat unless we are right in front of her...
Our two are still that way so I just go sit down at the dining room table while they eat. If I walk away Della will gulp it thinking something else might be going on that she needs to know about.

He seems a little light for a 6.5m male. His occiput is huge which i think if we were showing would be a flaw?

I think Kobi was bouncing around the 63lb mark at 6 1/2 months.
59lbs sounds about right.

Going on to the occiput, yes, some are more pronounced than others. Does that make him smarter? Lol seeing as it's also known as the 'smart bump!' - an old wives tale ;)

Not sure if would affect showing?!

We always called it a knowledge knot (not) lol

Im trying to convince hubs that Nero will still get wider. Lol. I had showed him your pics of ares at 6m, 1y, and 2y as proof. :)
I think most Dobes get at least somewhat wider as they fill out. Some will always be narrow. I'm quite sure have one.

Today is Mila's 7 month old birthday! Wow time is flying. And it's nuts how big she is when I think of her age. Also at how much calmer she is. I'm not running constantly through the house screaming no, no, no! haha. There was a time I felt that was ALL I was doing . . . wait . . . I was. lol Now her only problems come when it's raining and she can't run off that energy because "ewwwww momma I no wanna be out here!"

How old is Oji? Were his parents or siblings built more like him too?
Oji is two years and almost six months old. He is 65-70 lbs. as a male of 28".

His dam is 65 and his sire is 92 pounds.

I guess his dam does have the narrow build but I didn't notice it enough in time.

His sire looks pretty nicely built throughout.

Seems that dam threw her traits strongly into the litter, including some serious faults in the head structure.
