Gotcha....I see the difference between Sirius and Belmont.

Yes, I had heard that even in the show ring there is politics. When I went to a local show, I saw an elderly lady and sat/talked with her. You could tell this was not her first rodeo. She looked like she was from the old school of things.

As a matter of fact, my daughter and I remember seeing this fellow at the same local dog show with a Boxer. I just showed her and she is “No Way!!! That’s the same guy!!”

Where was this show located?

Thanks for your explanation.

This show was Lincoln, Nebraska. That is Michael Shephard. He is a well known and respected top handler. The Boxer he had was his Special, Wilma who is not only the #1 Boxer in AKC but she is a top Working Breed and All Breed winner. Michael handled Aria for us. Aria is Belmont’s Mom. Michael really likes Belmont.

I'm so very impressed with Belmont and proud that we've had the opportunity to watch him grow up with you!

I don't mind them maturing slowly and look how far he's already gotten.

Thanks Jan!! Means a lot to me! I would rather have a dog who is slow to mature vs one that matures early and gets coarse. Im guessing Bells will be fully mature by 3-4. He has already matured a lot since the Lincoln show.

What a beautiful specimen. I look forward to seeing him at full maturity. When did he start in the show circuit and how long does he stay out? Curious as I know some dogs are out showing for months at a time, I guess that's a good reason to find a great loving handler as they have to take care of your baby as their own. @Archer

Thank you!! He just started as a Special this year (Feb) so we will now show year round, about once a month and twice a month at most. Prior to that it was little shows here and there. We only take a break Dec-Jan. I rarely send him out with his handlers. I usually take him to them and stay for the show and bring him back home (called ring side handling) On a rare occasion I do send him out with the girls. Typically when I cannot take off work and the show is a bigger cluster (Runs Thur-Mon sometimes). I trust Kaylee and Erin with him as they do treat him like one of their own and they aren’t riddled with tons of client dogs. He’s been with them since he was 6 mos, so he is a priority dog for them. I’m his favorite person, but when Kaylee and Erin are around (especially Kaylee) I’m chopped liver. Lol. I don’t mind. Just shows me how much they love him. I trust them 100%. I have handled him and his littermate Llewyn on rare occasion, but with my health issues it’s best I don’t. Plus, Bells is a nice dog and sometimes you have to play along with the political aspect of the Doberman ring and have a handler on them.

Belmont took Best of Opposite Sex to a Top Twenty bitch all weekend in Nebraska. We also entered his first Obedience trial. Belmont now has two legs of his BN title. Saturday’s trial earned us a qualifying score of 189 which put us in third place. Sunday’s score of 198 put us is first place and gave us our second qualifying leg. Belmont will be entered in another obedience trial the middle of May where we will hopefully gain his third leg and his BN title. After this, we will work towards gaining his CD in the hope to qualify him for a ROM.

We are quickly approaching his AKC Grand Champion title. He has a few more shows this year that should provide us this honor.

A photographer of the show venue took this picture of us practicing our run in the grooming area and it was posted on the Venue’s Facebook Page. Also a stacked picture to follow how he is maturing.

Thank you!! He is a great OB dog. He actually saved us some points in the ring. I placed him
In his sit for the recall slightly crooked and he corrected and came to me straight as an arrow. He sure earned that first place!

I'm a sucker for a good looking head and nice movement. Nothing like watching a dobie move, add in a look like Belly Boy has and I can't hardly breathe Just love that boy!
