Soluna Dobermans

@Rits

Your Facebook page, picture of sun/Doberman, the layout….all the above is really badass.

Every inch of that page is really awesome.

Great job.
Thank you so much  I made everything myself. There is symbolism behind it all. We knew for a while that we liked the idea of the sun and moon to as a nod to Ripley and her name. So I incorporated her into our logo. That's Ripley's silhouette as the moon. Then the sun symbolizes firmness, strength and power while the moon represents calmness, beauty, nurturing. The same symbolism as Yin and yang. Opposites of one another, yet together they bring balance to one another to create a stable and healthy whole being. Perfect description, imo of the doberman and the complete doberman. Something I strive to aim for.

I forgot to update! Ripley has a little over 2 weeks to go.

We are getting closer AND bigger every day! She's doing lots and lots of resting on her own. She gets to run and romp around the pasture every day, sending the babies for a ride of their life. She is getting 3 meals a day now to spread the food amount out. Besides the increase in fat/protein (switched to a higher fat/protein food within the same brand) and increase in overall calories, she also gets a raw egg (straight from the coop :D) at each meal and raspberry leaf supplement to help with prenatal and whelping. The raspberry leaf powder helps strengthen uterine muscles, thus strengthening the contractions. They say it helps reduce the delivery time and make the labor less painful, making delivery easier and faster for the bitch and the puppies. Plus, its a good source of antioxidants.

Reminder of what she USED to look like, the day of breeding. :wideyed:

Sunday: She's loving the blanket nest. She was making little happy groans here. (6 weeks pregnant)

Monday: I let her in her xpen when shes tired of dealing with Stavros and wants to chill without being bothered. She loves her personal time and shes right next to Momma.

Lots of laying on her side. Poor girl can't curl up like she used to.

X-ray for puppy count will be Nov 6th. How many do we think she will have?
🤔
She still has at minimum 2 more weeks to go!

I’ll guess 7 babies!

She was definitely svelte before, but I still think she looks in great shape considering how far along she is. Do you know the weight difference from then to now?

You had 3 covers on her with the male? I thinks maybe more than 6 depending on answer... I love guessing/betting games but I'll wait for the answer. Are reds in the mix? Ink is black, do they both have gene for reds? Do we get bonus for colors? LOL.

I agree! I'm trying my best to not let her get FAT but still have plenty of wiggle room for supplying nutrients to the growing pups inside her. Afterall, a fit mom will have an easier time giving birth. You can still see her frame and muscles despite the growing belly!

Do you know the weight difference from then to now?
She's around 63-65lbs normally and she hit 69 when we did her ultrasound on 10/12. I have no idea what she is now but I'm sure they'll check her weight again at the repro when we get her xray done.

You had 3 covers on her with the male?
Yep 3 breedings over 3 days. Her progesterone was 2.3 on Friday AM. She was bred Sun early PM. Progesterone 11.4 Mon AM, bred late PM. Tues bred early PM.

Are reds in the mix? Ink is black, do they both have gene for reds?
Ink is #3 Black meaning he carries Black and Red, no dilute. Ripley is #4 Black and carries all 4 colors. Both bred together will only create Blacks and Reds.

I gave my guess for red boys and girls and black boys and girls but I can't remember what I said now. LOL
Do we get bonus for colors? LOL.
Jan went as far as to guess genders and colors along with #s. I told her I'll be amazed if shes right and she should definitely go buy a lottery ticket if so :wideyed:

I’ve seen some huge litters of 12-13 puppies. I can’t imagine having that many, especially as they get bigger! I bet the breeders start to get anxious for them to go to their new homes lol.
Yes... two of my friends just had 13 puppy sized litters. I'm sure they are ready for them to go home once they start weaning and mom is no longer wanting to clean up their poops! :wacky:
