DPCA question?

This may be a dumb question, but breeders on the DPCA site all have American sires and dams, correct? At least it seemed this way on the breeders websites. I am a little partial to Euros, or atleast Euro studs, and I feel most comfortable getting a DPCA dog.

So question is do any DPCA breeders have euro studs? And if not is there something as respectively as the DPCA for Euros?

I guess my favorite look is a euro stud with a USA bitch or half USA bitch (might be tough to find I don't know)

Yes the DPCA leans mostly toward American lines but the UDC (United Doberman Club) leans mostly toward Euros.

UDC Breeder Directory

You can get an idea of reputable breeders from either club, but it's not 100% foolproof so it's good to also do research on any breeder you're considering.

Do you see any popularity with a euro male and American bitch? I'm still new to this and didn't know the want or demand for certain breeding.

I have seen some breeders do it to refine or enhance either side, depending on what they're breeding for.

The blend of euro/am is my favorite too. It is hard to come by.

I second this. As I look at the list if both DPCA and UDC there is more than one breeder I would steer clear of.

I found these guys.

That would be a big NO WAY for me. One reason Deacon vom Landgraf IPO3, WAC, ATT, CGC
I wouldn't go near a breeder that used him as a stud dog. Speaks volumes about their breeding practices.

It depends on what you are wanting out of your dog. If you are wanting a conformation you should stick with a good DPCA Breeder that puts up a lot of winners. If you are just looking for a pet with a certain look I say just research breeders that health test and do something title wise with there dogs.

Have you had any luck in any of your searches for the mix of the 2?

I see Cara Dobermans has listed EIKO VOM LANDGRAF. Eiko is one of Wendy Schmitt's dogs and won the USCA regionals, UDC National IPO3 Champion with crazy high scores 99-95-99. If you want a working Dobermann, you'd be hard pressed to find a better one. I train with one of his sons who is competing at AWDF nationals this weekend. May not be the best looking dog but a top level working dog for sure.

View attachment 71406 :shock:I stumbled upon this and I really don't know what to say
That sale price is an absolute total joke. I don't care if it is a fully trained and proven Doberman. That is obviously preposterous. You cannot charge $70,000 for a dog unless – maybe – it was credited with saving the President's life or something.

Also, is the kennel name actually something that reads "proof in puddin" ?!? And, oooh, "ten years of selective breeding"? :lmao:

Flint does have a fair amount of working dogs in his pedigree. I'm guessing the $70K is really $7K and the 0014 is 2014 or that dog is over 2000 years old.

I spotted the Year first. Wow! He looks good for his age. I'll have what he's having ;)

I'm not familiar with that dog, why are you opposed to him?

Whoa. Wait just a minute. Am I missing something here? You are very opposed to a Dobe out of Deacon? I am at a loss as to why.

I'll just say that Deacon was bred for the wrong reasons.
He was bred for his working ability, not health.
I knew Deacon and have nothing against the dog, just not breeding material.
I keep in touch with his owner because Gigi is one of his dogs. She is Kye's GiGi Jumped the Gun.

Okay. Sorry for being snippety with you about it. :)
