Doberman puppy owners - track your weight gain here

Yeah, just about double from when we picked him up 02 November. My neighbor thinks he'll be 90lbs, I'm hoping closer to 80 but not much over. I want him to have a long life. His parents are both over 90 though :(

I need to cut back on Shadow's kibble per the vet. :( She'll be 6 mo by the end of this month and is 59lbs already.
I don't think that's too much for this age depending on her bone structure. Does she look overweight to you?

I'll admit it she does look a bit chubby and you have to push slightly to feel her ribs. But she still has a slight waist and the vet said there's no swelling at the joints. She is Euro and large boned. The vet would like me to start phasing out the middle meal and only have it as a snack. When do you phase out that middle meal? I can't remember when I did that with Princess.

About 6-8 months I think? If they're still excited about it, I would keep doing it though. Generally they still need to be let out every 5 hours (ish) anyhow.

We dropped the middle meal at 6 months. We feed him at 7.30am and 6.30pm. It just means that his morning and evening meals were a little larger.
We weigh his food daily and he's on 250g for each meal.
If I remember rightly, we didn't just stop it we gradually decreased his lunch over the week till it stopped completely.

My two phased out their noon meal on their own. They had no interest in it any longer. I have also cut back on their daily amounts. They were getting 7 1/2 c a day, now they are on 5c daily. There are days they show no interest in their morning meal but enjoy the evening meal. Bogie got up to 82lbs and just got back from vet and he is at 79.6 which I think is much better for him. Bacall was getting a bit fluffy as well. Hahahaha

Rubie was 51.5lbs at 11 months old when we last went to the vet. She's just within standard, height wise, and doesn't look too thin, just lean and her skin and coat look wonderful. I think I'm going to try another food, though. I've been putting her daily allotment of food in her bowl in AM and it's a miracle if she EVER eats all of it by the end of the day unless shes been to the dog park or daycare. If I add pumpkin, yogurt or coconut oil, she'll eat that and whatever food it touched as soon as I set her bowl down in the morning but then sometimes won't touch anything else until late afternoon. Could she really just be that good at self regulating? This is the 3rd food we've tried and she just doesn't get excited about any of it.

I've never had a dobe that has left food in their bowl ( only on the odd occasion if they've had a tummy upset!)

When I go to friends houses and see their dogs eat a bit, walk away, go back, eat a little more....nope, I've never experienced it with them.

I have to feed my two in their crates because my beagle Maddie is a serious food processor and I truly believe she would eat herself to death. She was over 20lbs overweight when I adopted her. She has been on a diet ever since. Lol
She has lost about 14lbs with a another 6 or 7 more to go. She acts like I am totally starving her.
