I can't agree here.
My boy Rocky is a barker. It's annoying.
Annoying because he barks? No. Annoying because he seemingly barks at nothing. He may be barking at something I can't hear or smell I suppose.
My red Dobe girl barked, but only when there was something worthy of barking about.
If Rocky barks I usually tell him to hush.
When Daisy barked I got up to see why, because there was a legit reason ; a tree trimmer up in a tree trimming branches next door for instance. He didn't belong there.
A person on my property, or a strange voice in the yard next door, not the person that lived there. Again, someone or something that didn't belong there.
Alerting that something is out of place or not normal? Fine,bark!
But barking because a squirrel 3 blocks away farted? Not acceptable.

I agree! One of the many reasons I have dogs is to alert me when something is not right. To bark at nothing is just not acceptable. I know if they are barking, there's a reason.
Gigi has a much different life. Living on 200 acres, she is not used to suburbia. She comes here and is barking at everything, voices, cars, you name it! Thankfully the neighbors don't get too upset. They know she will settle down pretty quick. A couple of times telling her quiet and it's over.
My kids are getting a handle on their barking for no reason. Our street is like a doggy telegraph. You know exactly where a person is approaching and going by which dogs start the barking first, then as they walk in front of each house the dogs let them know they are watching them. Of course my Cockatoo barks like a dog.

Ruby has recently started barking when I let her out at night/ early morning...when it's dark she runs outside barking...just to make sure IF any intruder was in the yard they know she is there. Kind of a PITA at 6 am, I'm outside trying to shush her and telling her to GO PEEPEE!!

Okie Dokie. Haha! I wouldn't be so sure of that. The general public still views these dogs as aggressive and dangerous, thus the many ridiculous laws against the breed.
Drogon is showing some real restraint there. Haha!
I won't permit my dog to bark whenever for whatever reason. Yeah, he's a dog. But I don't care. He's only gonna bark to alert me to perceived danger (or if he's passing a stone.)
If you figure out a way to keep your Dobe from barking at other animals upon sight (as in, seen out the windows of the house) I'd gladly give you my firstborn (dog) in exchange for the secret.Okie Dokie. I see significant Euro influences in Bruno: The substantial snout with pronounced flews. The prevalence of black coloration over the markings. The (no offense) front paws that tend toward the hare-like.

To me, the snout has always been an indicator. I have found Euros to have thicker snouts most noticeable in the under jaw. That's mostly from guessing other Euros here though. In person I have only seen 3 others - Kaiser's brother, and a half brother, surprise they look the same haha - and one Euro girl.
That said, check out these pics of Kaiser. See how the under jaw and lip (flews?) appears different in each shot.
The patterned ridge along their lips is so weird right?!
The water hole (lol!) is totally missing in this shot. This was night time in public with lots of people around including people climbing on a truck nearby (to watch fireworks). He looks more American here.

In my opinion, Kaiser has a moderate snout in terms of the flews. Not very profuse in flew at all. Incidentally, his snout looks on the shorter end in terms of length. My first Dobe had a short snout.
For an example of what, in my opinion, we see in today's Euros' dramatic flews, look at @Viemarangelrock 's girl. That female looks approximately 237% more masculine than my male Euro working-line Doberman. Of course, mine is snipey and lacking underjaw and bone in the skull. You should see him when he was a young pup. Blech.
So, while yes, working Dobermans tend to run smaller and less glorious looking, my Oji is rather extremely so. This despite the fact he is a Euro.
