Doberman puppy owners - track your weight gain here

She just gets over excited when she sees the treat. I get more jumping and pouncing if we go to class with no dinner. She'll rush the down command and keep her butt in the air .. that sort of stuff.

Mine were that way @My2Girls at first and my trainer used it to his advantage to get them to come to him as he walked backwards and then made them sit to get a taste of the treat then continued with the same routine until they finally realized that firm sit equals reward.

@WiglWerm I think I'm jealous lol! Mischa is 67 lbs at 21 months. It fits her well, but I expected her to be bigger, especially given her parents size. Ruby looks good though! she looks a nice size, and proportionate! is she euro?

Yes, she is Russian and Italian. Just measured her and she is around 26" tall at the withers. What is the average height? Wonder how tall she is gonna get. Was kinda surprised at her weight, she was about 65 lbs in September. Guess she hit another growth spurt. Her parents are around 70 lbs and 90 lbs, so I figure she'll end up somewhere in between.

I'm not positive on euros, but american, to be in standard, height is 28" I think for females. I know Mischa stopped growing taller well before she stopped putting pounds on. Mischas parents were around 70 and 100, so I was expecting (hoping for lol) around 80lbs or so

@MischasMomma, Mischa is a beautiful girl, and well proportioned, it seems they all grow at their own pace. I know everyone says they are grown at 2yrs but I really feel like the "final" adult weight can sometimes take a bit longer. How tall is she? You never know Mischa could surprise you and take after her daddy! I personally was comfortable at 70lbs but I guess Ruby has different plans...we'll see.

DPCA says females are standard at 24 to 26 inches...Ruby is about to blow it. I need to remeasure! Males 26 to 28" FCI says 63 to 68 cm for females..thats 24.6 to 26.7 inches

I personally think 3 years is the time dogs stop growing. Doesn't matter the breed. Size-wise 3 is a better estimate. My last dog, an Australian Shepherd, finally filled out at 3, before that she'd been lean. And I had her spayed early because she got a weeeeee bit too excited a lot.

I think Mila may be more European than American dominant, which makes me happy (I favor European). She's got so much more European in her background than American.

Aww thank you @WiglWerm! I do adore her however she may turn out, and I do think she is well proportioned. she sure acts like 80lbs of dog haha!! I guess I was thinking 28, because last I talked about standards was with @AresMyDobie so we must have been talking about males. I'll have to measure Mischa again, but I *think* she was about 24in last time I measured. I'll have to remember to do that tomorrow!

I know girls are done maturing much younger than boys and I think Della was through growing height wise by the time she was 10 or 11 months. They will still fill out some after that and of course they all vary some.
