Ragnar and Freyja

Well, I could have gotten her in a chair, but it just wouldn't happen for more than 5 seconds or with that calm demeanor.
I could have gotten Kaiser into a chair and held him in place, but soon as I'd let go, he'd jump off it knocking the chair down :spit: Reminds me of an instance when someone here said their dog was busy licking dirty dishes loaded into the bottom rack of the dishwasher, and when she chased him away, his collar caught the tray and he ended up dragging the whole rack of dirty dishes with him :rofl::rofl:

Painting our living room ALL DAY long.... Freyja is so calm and cool, plays with her stuff real nice. When she wants to romp, she will let Ragnar and I know and will go outside for 15-30mins to run them both out. At 4months old, Ragnar was a wild child that just would not calm. I think I have one of those old school Dobermans that @Ravenbird refers to in her past 93968B8F-C4C9-485C-A1DA-A65DAB71AF60.webp

She really really loves her big brother.

Yes, so much difference. Same owner, trainer, environment etc. etc. totally different dogs. I'm so happy to know that the whole breed didn't go cray-cray on us! Loving what I see and I'll bet you are too. You were all prepared for a red bitch version of Ragnar and you got a sweetheart. I love my dog more than anything, but I gotta say I do miss the "normal dog" part.:rofl:

I know it's all about the dog :whistle:and she IS adorable  but I have to say I love that wall unit! Beautiful!

Still having some issues potty training but it seems to be getting better. She stops and drops wherever and whenever. Gonna keep taking her out and when she goes- continue having parties in the yard.

Can’t believe how well Ragnar and Freyja are getting along. She is relentless at him all the time and he just takes it. When he’s had enough, he body slams her and moves away. She doesn’t stop, goes into a fit and I have to step in and calm her down. But they are peas in a pod, they look for each other. If she cries out? Better get out of the way, he is coming hard to see what’s wrong.

She listens very well and I really can’t believe how much she is learning from Ragnar. She watches him and follows suit to all he does. Sit, stay, wait for food, wait to go through door. Working on heal and fetch right now.

Walking with them two was hard at first, she hated the leash. She would plop and not move at all. Leash on her and Ragnar with ECollar. We turned it into fun and now she trots on Ragnars left side. I am not for sure if I am going to keep Ragnar on left side and put her on right side or teach Ragnar to be on the right.

Damn, she is a fricking eater! Eats everything, sticks, acorns, goose poop, grass, sticks...sticks....sticks.

Her right ear is spot on perfect. Her left ear is being very lazy, it is all over the place. If I put the bridge on it straightens up the left ear but pulls the right ear in too far- worried about a right ear pocket happening. But if I take bridge off, the right ear is good but left is all over. So for now, I put the bridge on for some time for left ear support and then take it off to challenge the left ear. Just kinda on and off trying to keep it all even.

Glad to hear things are going well !

Had some guest over and when we sat down to eat, I put the two monsters up.

Both went in and laid down without a peep. Everybody kept asking where Ragnar and Freyja was? They were impressed they were in the kennel without making a sound.

Made me proud in front of family and friends.

Just sent this to C908 but wanted to add it here to update Ragnar’s/Freyja’s story:

Freyja is absolutely wonderful...what a joy. Everything that I asked and hoped for to be honest. Ragnar can play with her all day long and be happy. Right now he can out run her and dodge her with his quickness but not for long, she gains a step on his ass everyday. Kinda like putting a young soccer player in with the pro’s, he drives her to be better.

So Ragnar’s/Freyja’s relationship is wonderful but I can tell he gets his feelings hurt when I have him stay inside and take her out to potty or to train. His head droops, eyes drop to the ground and he sulks. When I do give him his 1:1 time, he seems to absorb it deeper, he spends a lot more time physically closer to me more. He is so much more attentive and willing to please.

Freyja seeks me out with her quirky funniness of a puppy and damn she is a DoberShark. I really have to get video of her going after Ragnar chomping her mouth like an alligator. I can see her bond with Ragnar is really tight. She adores him and always wants to be next to him. I hope the training that I start with her next week will change her mentality on who I am and what I bring. I have been so busy with work and evening soccer....I have taken off next week and will try to solidify my role with her in the hierarchy of things.

I thought Ragnar was something but she is a feisty little shit, damn she is brave and does not back down. Prob because she knows Ragnar is there. She goes beserk on moonlight shadows on our wooden picket fence. Ragnar just looks at her like “what are you doing??”
I am so glad to hear things are going well. So much of what you say is the same way it is with Preacher and Mercy. We are good as long as the weather stays nice and they can play outside. We just came off of a 5 day rainy stretch which makes it hard.It is a joy watching them play outside together. They are never very far a part from each other.

Went to the vet this morn for the last of her vaccs- saved Rabies for last and by itself. The vet tech commented on how under control Freyja was in the clinic (we are locked down back to Phase2 so they come out and get her and take her in).
Freyja also responded to her Cajun French commands- sit and stay. I explained “Ah-see”- sit and “Id-dett”- stay. She tried them in the clinic and Freyja listened. Have to be honest here- I was happily surprised. She will be like Ragnar and be an asshat at home but a start in the spotlight. Lol....

Then went to Lowe’s to find some more outside Christmas lights. Frustrating that a strand seems to go out every year. I have sat and tried to check and pull out bulbs to find the bad ones but that shit never seems to work and I wind up wasting 3-4hrs. I absolutely HATE to waste time.

Freyja stood in the buggy and soaked up the crowded Lowe’s atmosphere. She was calm cool and confident as we wading through the merchandise and crowd. Everybody wanted to pet her and a lot asked about her antlers. I could have easily set up next to Santa with Freyja and held a “hands on question and answer” session.

I’m telling you....single guys don’t need to borrow somebody’s baby to attract females, you have a Doberman puppy with ears posted???? man you are golden!!

Here is monster at the fields. My wife and kids ask why I don’t take him to Lowe’s??? I tell them because he would cause chaos in the isles of people stopping and turning to go the other way. Folks always say he has such a menacing look to him. Only Doberman people approach him, all others are just scared.

@Ddski5 she has really grown and is beautiful.
So happy to hear her training is going so well.

I can relate to people rushing to go the other way at Home Depot when I had Bogie.
He had that “I could bite your face off in a split second” look that scared people.
Little did they know it was his normal look. :D If you ever saw him mad, you could tell the difference right off because his look then was beyond menacing.

Thanks for the update pics! Love seeing Freyja in the shopping cart surveying everything and soaking in some attention!

I actually like the inscrutable Doberman look on Ragnars face. Unfortunately Jazz seems to mostly have a "pleased to meet you" look on hers that sucks people in instead of sending them away.
