Puppy bm

I never follow the bag recommendations since it's just a suggestion and all dogs are different. Just judge by her

I ordered a better probiotic today and haven’t given her the purina one yet today. So far bms have been normal to fairly normal. Maybe related? Idk… would we great if so.
Also, her kibble says up to 2 cups a day for her age/wieght. I give her 3 3/4, is that too much you think? I feel like she’s actually still hungry only on kibble now. She is also petite around 43 pounds.
My husband is convinced I’ve gone crazy as I’m the poop inspector 😩🫣😅
Today was the best day she’s had in awhile, don’t jinx it,
I honestly don't care how old they are since poop can tell us so much about what's going on.
I agree as he thinks I’ve lost it, but the truth is poop tells a lot. I can see how she’s feeling and if she’s eating things she shouldn’t be. We’ve had so many stomach issues thus far and it’s been stressful.

Normal to fairly normal is great and she’s on track!

Poop patrol is a daily task and has gotten to where I can tell a lot of what’s going on.

2 cups is prob not enough but 3-3/4, I am not for sure. Just as @JanS stated, I judge a lot by her shape- neck thickness and tucked abdomen. Mine were always hungry regardless of how much or how less I fed them.

Sounds like you may have it under control with just the kibble- yay… I would continue on your current path for another week of good solid poops and then maybe increase back to 4cups to see if you could get her to gain some weight. Then, if she goes back to cow paddy poops, then you know she is getting too many calories- too much food in one day. But then again, she may be normally growing according to her natural abilities.

Of course the outliers are going to be cat, chicken, goose poop or anything else that she gets into without you seeing. They are some very quick sneaky boogers so you must be diligent and observant.

I was thinking about your situation the other night. I was sleeping in the living room and one of the cats vomited at like 3am, just as Freyja was coming in- hairball or whatnot? Yup, she ate it all up. A good reason to use a good maintenance probiotic.

Thank you and I sure hope so! Today normal until this evening she’s got me perplexed. Started the new probiotic this evening and will get all the doses in tomrorow. 🤞 I feel bad she’s not eating anything else and I know she’s hungry. I mean she’s always hungry, but we had such an abrupt food cut off. And with that less poops which is fine, just want them normal! Physically she looks fine she’s just a tiny girl see her stomach tuck in and no visible ribs.

You are right they are sneaky! She’s been getting into the mulch in the 1 min I let her be outside alone. I end up eating my lunch on the porch standing watching her😅

Oh my that is awful why must they eat the nastiest stuff?! I guess cat anything is a delicacy for them 🤢 less for you to clean up 🤷‍♀️😂

Some mulches are toxic, did you know that? I don't have time right this minute to go search it, but you can google Mulch/Dogs to see what kind or brands. I don't remember, but I do remember reading about it.

Sound perfect!

Mine too. ALWAYS hungry.

Oh crap I just text my mulch buddy. She isn’t getting much, but still not ok and I don’t want her eating anything, but food.

Haha I don’t blame them I am always hungry too 🫣😂

And I would prob only give 1/2 or 1 tsp of pumpkin since she is only 11weeks. Too much pumpkin will cause loose stools.
This explains the liquid poops Crank's been having this evening. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Noticed he had some pretty soft stool this morning/afternoon, so I added a big spoonful of pumpkin to his dinner. It's obviously had the exact opposite effect than I'd anticipated.

I'm glad I can go back and check older posts to find a likely answer.

I believe Dogzymes have saved Peppers belly. Since starting it she’s been back to normal. Hoping this is the answer and will slowly increase kibble to 4 cups this week.

I’m now nervous to give her anything besides kibble.

What would you suggest about introducing other foods?

Did you determine she's too thin? If she's just right, just increase a little to keep up with her overall size. As you stated, slow increase is best. If you were feeding quite a variety added to her kibble you'll need to add more kibble to make up the calories she's no longer getting.

One at the time, what you think is most important to supplement her kibble. Especially if you least expect it to be a problem, add that one thing daily and watch her for a week or more. If you add a "little" of several things and she gets upset bowels then you won't know which one is the culprit.

Also keep in mind that kibble in large amounts tends to soften stools, so you may want to stay on kibble only until you are certain that you can feed that in full ration amounts with no setbacks.

I’m now nervous to give her anything besides kibble.
Don't be. If it turns out she has a sensitive tummy to variety but does well on your kibble count yourself lucky!

No, she looks good, she’s just petite. What do you think? Ok good advice pertaining the kibble I’m going to stick to it for now and maybe give her a bit of banana and see how that goes.

You’re right it she can handle kibble that’s enough for me. Having allergies and all would be a catastrophe to deal with.

She was getting an assortment of things and that may have been the issue too much and calories too much.

I wanted to share incase anyone wanted to try! They aren’t meant to be taken everyday like a pro/prebiotic, but they work very well for firming up soft stool/diarrhea.

Longer car rides tend to upset Remy’s stomach a bit. Before using this it would take a day or two for things to get back to normal. Now I’ll give him one dose a few hours before a trip, then again 8 hours later, and we don’t have any issue!

She was good all day until this evening another loose one. 😭
Don't fret! At this point on a steady diet of one thing, don't try to fix it. There's a good chance nothing is wrong, especially if she isn't acting sick. When you say loose: soft serve ice cream? puddles? can you pick it up in a poop bag? If it's that firm, I'd say it's fine. All our dogs will have mild changes day to day.
