Puppy bm

Costco also sells it! I was using raw goats milk but it’s way more expensive compared to kefir.

I noticed Kaiser eats grass when his stomach is upset. If he eats it in the morning, he will have a bile puke which I avoid by changing up the timing of his morning meal. If he eats it in the evening, he will have diarrhea 🙄 either way, it’s a good idea to curb that behavior.

Great thanks I’ll check my Costco.

Exactly what happened yesterday with her. Lesson learned thank you.
Working on no grass today and she’s relentless.

Thank you! I just posted a response to you and I think it posted elsewhere lol 🤦‍♀️

I'm committed to Pepper and to you all :)

You can’t get rid of me that easy…

But really thank you and I appreciate your concern for Pepper.

Hope the vet can get her a probiotic today and that Pepper continues to get regular.

Btw she slurped her Keifer right up! Had a tablespoon in my palm and she went to town!
Vet didn’t call me back of course… I called again today and they claim vet will call me later today.

Pepper does seem better stools formed, but soft. Keifer in her diet now.

And it’s clear to me I made the right choice to find another Vet.

Happy Wednesday all!

The vet said pick up biome wet food and do for 48 hours. She said it has probiotic in it. I asked for probiotic and she said she’d give me one, but the Keifer will also be fine.

How does this sound? Feeling frustrated

I agree with @Kaiser2016. For as long as I can remember, we were told that a dog will eat grass when the stomach is upset. In any event, if it is coccidiosis, that explains diarrhea. It could take a few weeks to get rid of it. Right now I suggest working with your vet and following their advice.

Ended her amoxicillin last week bums were normal. Have her a bull stick Tuesday and has had runny, sometimes almost solid, and now diarrhea again.

I am at a loss with her bms. I’m going back to chicken and rice today just did some pumpkin. She had the bully a limited time with it didn’t eat it all. I did give her whole milk yogurt this am and she didn’t have a bm until 3:50 pm. Also, not normal.

Any suggestions what is going on? I’m going to eliminate milk products as well.

It could very well be dairy products so it doesn't hurt to cut them out to see.

If that is the only thing different, I'd point at that first. Go back to exactly what you were feeding when it was all going well. Stay with that a week without any variation. Then when you do give her something different just do one thing, like the yogurt, and nothing else different so you can watch for changes due to that one thing. If you can add a spoon of yogurt for a week, then give her a bully stick and limit it to 15 minutes or a certain measurement of it. Set a timer if you have to. Wait a couple of days before you repeat the bully stick. Seems like Pepper has "sensitive stomach/guts" and may react adversely to certain things.

Maybe even that amount was too much? I know if Kaiser eats more than 3 inches it will impact his stool. Maybe try to keep her off any snacks or extras until she’s stable for several days
How long

It was an accident too, I went to grab a collegian stick and the darn bully stick was randomly in the collegian stick box. Too late as I had already let her walk around the store holding in her mouth…
Yes, only thing different she ate this week and for about 15 mins she ate it.
Just weird how it’s almost solid and then next round it’s not, and inconsistent with how many times she goes this week.
Crossing my fingers it’s solid today. Going back to chicken and rice. Think k should wait to add kibble back?

If she's not severe, I wouldn't bother with the chicken/rice diet. Just go to what she was doing well on before the bully stick and stop changing things. Give her a chance to recover while eating her normal diet. If "normal" diet doesn't fix things then re-evaluate.

Ok that makes a lot of sense, thank you for your help. Really thankful for you all!
She’s not severe going like 1-2 times a day and it’s semi loose and more loose at the end of her bm session.
I’m going to do her kibble today with her normal stuff and add her Keifer see if that helps her.

That's what I was thinking too. None of our dogs have had any trouble with bullie sticks, but they're all different. Maybe some are processed differently? Ours come from either Sancho & Lola's Closet or Bow Wow Labs, who both have high quality sticks.

She seems to be on the mend as of lunch and let’s hope that it stays that way. I gave her a barkworthies bully stick, but now I’m reading other dogs have had diarrhea from them. She did well with collegian sticks and I’ll just keep to that and not anytime soon! Going to get her under control this week before we add anything else.

She did well with her beef ribs, but why are they so difficult to find?! I even went to the Amish market and all short ribs 😩

I’ll check out those brands for other items for her too thanks @JanS

If you have a large chain grocery with a deli type meat department ask someone behind that counter. Albertsons is our big chain store here and sometimes I find them frozen - so maybe they aren't that popular to leave out fresh? Walmart never has them. Was that a pet store place that sold you a single one? That would be unheard of for a grocery store. LOL. Or try a place like Costco or Sams Club? The one place I find them regularly is a small local chain and one time they only had the short ribs and I asked the guy that ran the meat dept. if he had some just like that but long bones. He went to the back and said he did but they weren't cut and asked how many and then went and cut them for me. So yeah, keep asking.

Good idea to ask the big chains maybe I can even order through them. I’m going to Costco this week- which I dread haha, but I’m betting they have the ribs.
No, it was a fancy meat market, nice meats, but pricey, 1 rib 16 dollars… 😳😂

I was shocked the Amish market didn’t have the big ones only shortie. I’ll keep trying I am on a mission haha.

Thanks again ☺️

All was well this am and mid am. I gave her a hard boiled egg after our walk today. She had kibble on her walk. Now she has diarrhea, anyone heard of eggs causing this?
