Name for a Red Doberman

A feisty red head = Scarlett!

I like it!!! Phoebe's litter name was Harlet (breeders spelling) but I just couldn't bring myself to keep that one.

Ragnar and Scarlett. Hmmm, has a sort of poetry there somehow. Like it! I named Jazz on one meeting, when she was only 6 weeks old and sleepy, little knowing that she would live up to that name! So be careful what you label your Dobe.

On naming females masculine names: My first Dobe puppy (born 1992) I wanted to name a German name - she was a German breed and did go back to German lines. I was looking up all the German female names (no internets in those days!) and of course came up with Marlene Dietrich, who I loved in all her old movies and she was gorgeous and was a tough tough lady in real life. But Marlene just didn't have a good call to it, didn't roll off the tongue for a quick serious dog call (or correction!) - but Dietrich did. Turns out Dietrich was a pretty common mans name, but did I care? nope. That was her name.
