Movies with Dobermans in them (:

You can rent it through Lackluster online :) I won't since I refuse to give them any money, but I will prolly buy a copy through Amazon!
Is that streaming? I can't do that with a limited data usage. :( Someone was gonna copy Eyes of an Angel for me a long time ago and she never did :( It's pretty old but it's too bad Netflix doesn't have it.

I believe jerry lee is/was a real police dog who was shot and killed while on duty (a bit ironically given the end of the movie)

I absolutely love that movie, even has John Travolta in it. I have tried looking to purchase it. But to no avail. I have 3 of the Doberman Gang movies, they are so old makes you laugh at them. (The technology at time).

I highly recommend Eyes of an Angel to anyone who has not see it.

Netflix doesn't have it, and you can't rent it. You could probably buy it online, but it is easiest to watch the whole thing on YouTube. They have all the sections.

Oh I also meant to say my bf told me about an old movie called the doberman gang where they have dobermans rob a bank or something. We bought it on eBay cheap. I'm watching the mailbox.
yeah i got the "doberman gang" and the "daring dobermans" on ebay pretty cheap even though that they are old there still pretty good:)

Wasn't that a great movie?, Tripoli was gorgeous!, I saw it for the first time last night after my pup went to bed, I was afraid the barking may wake her, but I had to take the chance and watch it. Hmm, I should have known she wouldn't wake, they sleep as hard as they play. lol :dobe:

Welcome Rhynda! You should post an intro post in our intro section and tell us more about your dogs. :)

If I had not seen "The Doberman Gang" as a young child, I would not of aspired to own one as an adult. After watching it, I was determined that I was going to have doberman's in my life for sure :D

You know, I don't know if I've ever seen the Doberman Gang.......and it doesn't come up in a Netflix search. :tap:

In the movie credits it says the dog played by Tripoli, sorry that is all I know. Yes he is very handsome a few times when they showed him he looked like Batman to me. lol

Caught a glimpse of Doberman on the TV today.

I pulled a little paragraph...

At one o'clock, Harry makes his way into the executive offices of the corporation, wearing his gray slicker and carrying his blue pouch with photographs. He pauses at the door of the Director's office - marked PRIVATE - listening to the playback of the tape. As he enters, a trained black Doberman Pinscher attack dog trots in behind him. In the room, Martin, the Director (an uncredited Robert Duvall), and Harry awkwardly stand and listen. On the wall is a nicely-framed photograph of Ann, captured by the camera at the point in the tape where Mark expresses his intimate relationship to Ann, calling her "honey":

The movie?

1974's The Conversation,with Gene Hackman,Cindy Williams,Harrison Ford,Teri Garr,Robert Duvall.

Now I want to see the entire film.Reading about it,the film lost out to The GodFatherII for best film.

We've been watching a show on Hulu Plus that has more than its share of Dobermans in it. Dobies aren't on long, but have made appearances in each of the three seasons we've watched so far.

One of the detectives brings his pooch to the office and there's a touching episode when his dog dies of old age and he goes through the process of being rejected by shelters because the detective and his wife are too old to adopt a dog. (It has a happy ending. I identified with that episode because I'm at the age I make sure I have a home for my dogs in case anything happens to me. My worst thought is for my dogs to be put in a shelter or to sleep because I'm too sick or worse to take care of them.)

1) Season 1 - Detective Superintendant Sandra Pullman shoots a Doberman in the very first scene of the very first episode during a raid. It's actually funny because the dogs owner says, "You shot my dog!!!" with a bewildered expression on his face and the rest of the series, Pullman is teased about it.

2) Season 2 - A suspect who's an authority on Egypt (think Anubis) owns a beautiful red Doberman. This episode has an interesting plot twist because old dogs are an essential part of a murder.

3) Season 3 - A Doberman is being walked behind the actors in a scene in a residential neighborhood.

I enjoy the series because the three retired detectives that are in the cold case unit that Pullman heads are politically incorrect and a throwback to the old days of policing. I wish I understood more British humor (humour? ;)) because even on this side of the pond, I find the series very funny and I must be missing at least half of the jokes. I recall John Cleese talking about A Fish Named Wanda where he said that the Americans laughed at half the jokes and the British laughed at the other half of the jokes.

Flipping through channels a few days ago I happened upon a movie I had not seen before,Beverly Hills Ninja.A spoofy comedy staring Chris Farley as the white Ninja.
I was half ass watching this while playing a game on my phone.
At one point he decides to break into some guys mansion(the bad guy) and spies a Doberman while on a roof.
He whips out his trusty blow dart gun, aimes at the dog, looses his footing as he blew, and struck a bird flying over head. The bird falls from the sky at the dogs feet and the dog starts having a snack.
They show Chris walking past the eating dog and he makes some kind of wise crack.
Scene changes showing Chris running for his life jumping over a water feature with Doberman in chase:D
