It's a Dobie thing!

Is grumbling a dobie thing? Mischa is SO vocal. well be watching a movie or something and she "sighs" or "grumbles" very loud as if to let us know she's still there. I don't remember any of ours growing up being so noisy lol

Lol yes Ares will do stuff like that he to talkative at times hahaha

Dante has always been a talker. I swear that he can say momma. It would be so special to know what they are saying. We have a new dobie...Lexi is our new little girl. She will be 1 year old on the 28th. The people that had her said they were moving and couldn't take her but we doubt that story. Dante is in love and that makes him talk all the more. She's quiet except when in the yard and then she lets everyone know she is in the back yard. I'll find the picture of the two of them and post it.

The list

Perimeter check all windows
Perimeter check property line
Chest up to the top of the fence to let people and other animals this is my house
The Dobie stretch and fart
Sucking on blankets
Head rest in lap
Paw slap water bowl
Dobie drama grunt
Dobie talk to you when he wants something
When they know you are leaving they run and hide or block door way
The Dobie plop and lay
The tip toe through grass when it's wet or snowy
Follow you in bathroom
Their are beautiful and elegant dogs.I think I'll always have one for the rest of my life.
Ok I'm done. I just wanted to let everyone know what they already know Dobies are the best bread.

This may seem creepy but does anyone ever think that their dobe looks through them? Last night I was looking at Gretchen and I've been down a bit lately, and I swear she was looking through me and understanding why I was down. Almost like she felt it too.

They both get pretty excited knowing we are going out.

Nothing but excitement around here. The dogs both know the signs that I am getting ready to go out. It's so funny to watch them try to contain the excitement. They know they it's a rule and look like they are going to explode. Drake is usually the one that can't contain himself and runs to Greta and puts her head in the mouth and walks her to the door. Talk about a sight to see, 2 prancing dobes going to the door, one with a head in his mouth. :lmao:

Anyone else have a dobe that needs their toys elevated while chewing on them? View attachment 54503

And of course, the classic "Mom, my toy fell. Will you come over here and pick it up for me? K, thanks!" View attachment 54504

I adopted my first Dobe, Ilse, from the pound; I didn't know their rep as Velcro dogs. One night I went out to the back yard to investigate a noise. I backed up before turning to go back inside, not realizing she was standing millimeters behind me. I fell over her onto the cement patio on the base of my spine, fracturing my pelvis in three places. (I still walk with a limp, but she was worth it!)

Holy cow! That's awful. My man is home recovering from surgery and tripping over our Doberman all day. He can't believe how velcro Hans is.

Oh, the licking!! Ava Houdinied her way out of every neck-thingie on the market to lick a leg wound I thought would never heal.

I once took Ilse with me to see the Budweiser Clydesdales. She was besotted. A really cool handler saw how mellow and well-behaved she was, and let us right up to her "favorite." They nuzzled each other repeatedly as she leaned against his leg for a good 15 minutes. Made the news, and there was a photo in the paper the next day. (Fortunately; forgot to bring my camera!)

Took Kris to her first Agility trial this weekend. Had the shade tent up and Kris was in her crate. I had to cover it as it was really windy out. I could hear her grumbling away and when I peeked in, she was just lying there complaining to herself. This is the first time she has had to be in her crate except at night or when travelling in the Van. For the first time she had to travel to and from the trial loose in the Van with my two little dogs as I was not carting her big crate back and forth and it was a two day trial. She was good though and just curled up on the big back seat or on the floor.

Kris sounds like a very sweet Dobergirl!

LOL, where do we begin.

Albert does the slapping feet and a loud grunt when he lays down to get comfy.

They nose poke, especially in the butt.

They must come to the bathroom with you.

They're always watching you and what you're doing.

They're talkers when they play with each other. Not barking, but making their own Doberman language.

They'll melt in the rain.

Ah, the bathroom..... Porsche loves to watch the toilet flush, oh I never have to worry about alone time in the potty , I guess she figures she gets no privacy when she goes potty on walks, why should I. Lol

Hm, I never had a Dobe come into the bathroom with me, although they would/will lie outside the door. If I may go a little OT: if Dobes are Velcro dogs, a certain "Shepherd-Husky mix" (per the owners relinquishing him to the Humane Society) I adopted was Crazy Glue. Found out from my vet he was a wolf . . . (I don't believe in their being kept as pets, but that's another story.) Anyway, Nicholas would *not* be stopped from getting into the tub when I took a shower; I didn't want to ask my landlord to replace the bathroom door after the first time he broke it from its hinges, so he was a very *clean* wolf! He used to watch for me to come home from work - from the roof. Always sitting; never lay down while waiting, my fascinated neighbors told me, even if I was an hour or so late.

(Sorry for the digression!)
