Really the heat is a non-issue if there aren't other intact males in the area. With Della and Phoebe it was just a matter of either having pants on them or wiping up a few blood drips but Phoebe did have a false pregnancy her last heat and I felt so bad for her.

You’re right it isn’t really and she’s always with me. I got some dog spray I’m going to carry on walks to be safe.

As mentioned, they are all different. You'll have to watch and see. Usually they spill a little more when they get up from laying down for a long time, like after a nap or in the morning. If you have carpet, I'm sorry.

Haha yes the wind! I was a probation/parole officer many years ago and I was the only one who was sprayed in the eyes with cap stun. I would keep notes on her cycle with the dates so you sort of have a baseline idea for next time.
Yup. I have one page with every cycle: start, finish, behavior, cut short or dragged on. All the notes on false pregnancy behavior.

Use "leave it" if she tries to mess with them. Do not leave them on in the crate if she is prone to eating things!!! I use layers of washable blankets, but if Pepper can't have blankets, just wipe the crate out with a wet cloth or Clorox Wipe Cloths. As mentioned earlier, the only time I leave them on is when she is free-roaming the house.

Ah good call on “leave it”, I fed her some cheerios to distract and then we napped together. She did pass out and didn’t mess with them. Although, unattended no pants she can’t be trusted. I am torn with the crate for night time because she’ll be on the hard surface. Would it be bad to wash her bedding everyday? Or am I being ridiculous?
Her day time crate is bare, but night time she seems to pass out asap no time to eat stuff lol
LOL I think more of our laundry is dog stuff than our stuff.

Those are the panties we used with Freyja. Don’t have a comparison but I would say she bled more than just a little. My girls had some pads so I put them inside the panties and that worked out fine. Just had to be aware and diligent because she did chew up the pad a couple of times.
