Would it be bad to wash her bedding everyday? Or am I being ridiculous?

I have a stack of dog blankets & towels and would put several in her bed (it's a nested airline crate with X-pen around it. Anything soiled overnight I'd take out and put a fresh one on. She has her own pile of laundry, so I'd just do it all when there was several things. I didn't want Asha to be loose in my room w/out pants and I didn't want her to wear them all night - so I just closed her in the pen with her bed when it was bedtime. She doesn't tear up anything so I don't care if she's got 4 blankets. But pants? She would tear those up trying to get them off if I wasn't watching so that's how we handled the overnight arrangements. (the bed & pen is next to my bed) Also first starting and ending she just spotted, but always 4 - 5 days there was a lot. So just know it will vary during her cycle.

I'm a little bit of a weirdo because I like doing laundry! lol I actually enjoy housework too. I like cleaning my house and keeping it nice and laundry just seems to appeal to me cuz its making things clean, I guess.

Yeah, no pants unattended lol even sitting near me she’s tried to nibble them. Still very light and today, mostly just tired and doesn’t have nearly as much energy as usual. Good to know it may get heavier too.
I really appreciate the information and knowledge as I feel clueless. Learning each day and taking notes. I’ve cut her walks down as I can tell she starts to fade around 30 mins. Even with playing she’s hit about 10 minutes and she then walks off to rest.

Believe me, not everybody loves it. Like I said. I'm a weirdo! I have a lot of friends who boohoo laundry.

There was a time when I was cleaning homes with a friend of mine. And also a few homes that I did on my own. Like a neighbor. I had a girlfriend who wanted me to come over and clean her home before party. I was so excited and she was laughing! She's like, I cannot believe you are excited to come over and clean! Weirdo!

Why yes, they are metallic gold.... The cat was on guard because of the noise Asha was making while she was flopping around biting the rug.

They all vary so it's hard to say. You might have close to another week yet of bleeding before it tapers off though.

Ripley bleeds the entire time except the final week. So don't look for straw color for receptive, its not always indicative. The first heat cycle will also likely be different than the third+ when she's mature and regular.

Without going back on your thread, was it 25 days that she was actually bleeding? Seems like she bled for a long time. But I guess we're just not used to that as women.

Yes, it was very light and picked up around week 2, then this week light again and stopped yesterday. I was shocked she was bleeding on her pads like a human.

Pepper stopped bleeding on 7/25. Her heat started 7/1, I was going to assume she’d end her heat on 8/1. Her vulva is still swollen, but has shrunk a little. Will it go back to her pre heat size? Also, when is she really finished her heat? I want to be safe and gauging by the size of her vulva I have no idea lol.

Sorry, that just sounded funny. Or maybe alarming. LOL especially for a mom that's going to go through her dog's first heat somebody soon.

And people worry about a picture of an intact male!

So since this is your dog's first heat what can you say that was different throughout the whole process? I mean as far as your dogs personality. I think you said she was more tired? And a little more clingy? Just interested in what you may have observed.

Most people figure around 21 days to peak receptiveness, meaning she will flirt with intact males and has the best chance of getting pregnant. They can definitely get pregnant before or after that though. I think 8/1 is a good assumption but you have to judge by your own dog.

Again, that varies from dog to dog but our girls have gone back to being close to normal after.
