Hello :)
I am having a problem with my Doberman’s one ear standing she is 7 months now and I have been posting religiously since she was 11 weeks old when I had the ears cropped . Her ears seam a little soft I started giving her vitamin to strengthen .
But still NO luck .
Please tell me...
Alright guys, so I’m going to keep this short, after having so much issues finding good tape in Europe and j&js becoming harder and harder to find anywhere, I have found what might be by far the BEST tape I have ever used!!!
I’m a firm j&js enthusiast, however since it wasn’t possible here I...
Her ears were cropped at 10 weeks. She is 3.5 months old now. I'd say that she has a medium crop. I have read that posting should continue until at least 6 months old. I think that this is because 6 months is the time by which the ear cartilage has hardened.
Posting has been difficult lately...
Hi! I have a 6 month old doberman named Weslie. I cannot get her ears to stand straight. I tried the breathe right strips and she ripped them off. Tampons, popsicle sticks, just tape. I am not sure how what to do to get the tops straight. They stand great and are on their own just the ends bend...
So long story short I’ve been terrible about posting, haven’t tried in something like 8mos and now my boy is 13mos. One ear stands and one flops. That one has been flopping for the whole 8mos, though his cartilage is still insanely soft and he can make that ear stand if it’s perked up. I stopped...
Hey all I’m going to start giving my puppy Ester - C vitamin c. He is 5.5 months old and the vitamin c is 1000mg per tablet. Should I start off giving him 500mg per day? Or 1000mg per day? And if 1000mg per day should I give it to him all at once or 500 in the morning and 500 at night? Thank you...
I just ordered some zonas tape online after seeing people say it’s really useful with ear postings. Just wondering what you guys think of it? Or if there is any other tape you recommend. All the athletic tape I get from the store seem to always unravel in a day or two! We have been using a...
I reposted my pups ears, and right away after I noticed the post is kind of sticking out the ear canal I thought I stuck it down all the way it must have got out when we were doing the taping.. my question is if it’s still fine how it is or should I redo it, because (to me at least) they still...
Loki’s wars are doing GREAT!! I’ll include a picture of his most recent bath time so you can see how the crop is looking.
I wanted some advice on what we should do for this upcoming week. My family has a lake trip scheduled, and of course Loki is coming. I don’t expect him to get into the...
Hi everyone!
Loki has been doing MUCH better with his ear postings. He sits still longer and isn’t afraid of me grabbing on them. I’ve been trying to normalize handling them everyday, even when they’re taped. I’ll grab them and wiggle them a little and give them a sniff while I’m there to make...
Hello everyone!
I’m new here, my name is Paige. My fiancé and I brought home our BEAUTIFUL little boy Loki a month ago today. He had his ear crop surgery 2 weeks ago, and this vet was HORRIBLE! My regular vet recommended them since they don’t have space for elective surgeries due to COVID...
My dobe is planning to arrive with his ears cropped from the breeder. The breeder isn't local so I am wondering if there are any vets / breeders in the Austin area willing to help with the first couple initial postings until I get the skill down.
Do vets do postings if the ears weren't cropped...
has anyone had any experience with using kinesiology tape for posting?
I know a lot of people do zonas/ j&j and I also have some of that for one when time but I find it hard for me to order those and the name brands.
kinesiology Tape that I’m looking at is suppose to be breathable, stretch...
I am a new doberman owner and am wondering if I should continue with posting? The vet said he thought posting was no longer needed but I feel they're still floppy when not at attention and am not sure if that's how they're supposed to look when not at attention..
I’m picking up my Doberman puppy soon and I’ve been reading up on posting methods and tips.
I’ve heard from one breeder that you should “test” the ear’s strength (leave them unposted for as long as they stand on their own) in between posting in order to see how the ears are progressing and...
Hello all! Our lovely 11 week old Female , Seilah was cropped a couple weeks ago, had her stitches removed Monday and was posted at the vet, with likely too much tape. Removed the posts/tape Thursday Night, inner ears all good, a little funky but nothing out of the ordinary, however the leather...
Back story:
This is my first Doberman and first ear cropping situation. My Doberman had her ears cropped at 13 weeks. She removed the posting at night after a few days of having it and the vet decided to wait until after the stitches were removed to post again, telling me her ears would continue...
Hi, I made an account here for the sole purpose of asking this question and maybe getting some support.
Yesterday my 6 mo old male doberman was taken to the vet because he had an emergency (a whole other story that has had me upset all night). While there, the veterinarian made a comment on my...
Hi, I was hoping I could get some advice with my puppy's ear posting. Our little girl is 10 weeks and we've had her about 2.5 weeks now. We've had some issues with posting her ears. This being our first time, we weren't sure which method was the best. I tried two different methods, the tampon...
Hi there!
Question:
Mila, 7 months, had her ears cropped by Deborah Schaffer, Frisco TX, who was recommended by many for great ear crops. (And we do love the shape). We posted for a few months and our last posting was Feb 2nd. Her ears stand great, but there is a tiny bit at the tip that...
