Hysterical!!! She’s so disgustedI cut these up for the chickens and thought I'd video how seriously Asha hates a banana. Feel free to add videos of your dog loving or hating a banana. This could get fun!
Elroy has been doing similar when dad is peeling an orange. He will crinkle up his nose and grunt but he keeps standing there taking in the smell. LOLhow seriously Asha hates a banana.

LolOh my dogs love bananas! I can't even sneak one with Annie! She hears the snap as I'm peeling it and she instantly appears. Today she was eating a cookie or something of her own in the other room. I thought I could sneak a few bananas into my container for my smoothie while she was distracted. But omg, there she was! I'm like, how did you hear that? And of course, when Dad is cutting up cantaloupe she is right there. He'll always give her one or two for sitting nicely and waiting. I did take a video of the banana one day but I can't find it. I'll have to make another.![]()
Just speaking for my own observations, I think they smell it.Lol
They can hear that snap when you peel it. Idk how! It’s the smallest sound ever! I even try to peel it so quietly and nope Pepper still comes running!
Seems they are really fast to figure out sequence of events if you repeat things in the same order frequently. One of the tips I learned training for IGP obedience (it's always in the same order in trial, unlike AKC) - was to rarely do the whole pattern in practice as they would start predicting the next move rather than wait for a command.Ours are proactive since they know when dad finishes his coffee and rinses his cup out that it's banana time so they come running to wait.
Certainly a possibility! Especially if they are in another room or if the TV is on or something that muffles the sound.Just speaking for my own observations, I think they smell it.
That makes a lot of sense. They also said for nosework to not put your dogs harness or whatever you use for it on until you're ready to go in so they know it's time to work. One of the tips I learned training for IGP obedience (it's always in the same order in trial, unlike AKC) - was to rarely do the whole pattern in practice as they would start predicting the next move rather than wait for a command.
