Does my Dobermans cropped ears look weird?

Hi so I recently got a doberman, she is 5 months old and I picked her up when she was 11 weeks and already had her ears cropped. The breeder showed me how to post and I have been doing it ever since I got her. I am not quite sure where the breeder took her to get her ears cropped but I know she went out of state to get them done. I’m also not sure what kind of crop she asked for. Her ears seem to be standing on their own but I feel like they face more forward than they do on the side like most cropped doberman ears I have seen. Is there something I did wrong or something I can do?

Welcome from Minnesota!

It looks to be close to show crop length and they're looking good. I would keep posting for another month at least since she's heavy into teething right now.

Most of that comes down to how you place the ear on the post before you tape it. I pull the ear up on the center of the post facing sort of to the side.
This is just the first photo I came across of our pup to sort of give you an idea.
Both snuggled on floor Aug 5 23.webp

What is your girls name? She's a cutie!

I think the crop vet simply took a straight slice without adding much artistic style to the ear or bringing in the bell. She's also looks very alert in all of the pics so her ears are facing forward. As she matures they will fit her head more. She has a lot of hair around the ears which adds to the look. My girl doesn't have as much but she can get pretty messy/wookie looking so I like to shave the edges of the ears to keep the appearance neat and sharp.

They look good so far posting wise, great job Keep it up like Jan said!

It could also be the angle of the photo? My girls ears look like they have no style from the front but then from the side you see that they do! Notice that they also face forward when she's super alert and photo from the front, which is normal. She's also very alert in the side shot but the ears look fine and probably what you think you are seeing on others. Hopefully this reassures you!

Beautiful puppy! I think you've done a great job posting, don't stop until at least the end of her teething! Looks like a long show crop, which can sometimes take longer, and as @Rits says, they will "fit" her better when she's fully grown.

Thank you for the advice I will definitely keep posting although she seems to be done with teething. Her name is Athena :)

Wow she is gorgeous! I guess I never noticed how much extra hair she has on the side of her ears until now, definitely will trim it up to see if that makes a difference. A lot of times when she is alert her ears look more on the front of her head but there are some times where they are more on the side. Hopefully she will grow into them and not worry me so much lol!

I agree her ears look gr8 and she will grow into them as mine girl did. Hard to really know when the cartilage is strong enough until u leave out posts. I began removing posts at 5 1/2 months and noticed just slight weakness near tips, 2/3 wks of breathe right strips at the top did the trick.
