Introducing Robin!

View attachment 110318 View attachment 110319 View attachment 110320 View attachment 110321 I really lucked out and found a litter of Dobermans not too long after Hans passed. We went and got our new puppy Robin today. She's so little! I suppose Hans was about her size when I picked him up too, but we forget these things... She's American on her dam's side and Euro on her sire's side. I've only had her home for a few hours, but she's been great! She smells like a goat, likes the toys I've provided, and is already on watch from the patio door.

WE USED THE SAME BREEDER! HAHA

Are you in Maine? I was looking at these pups on the breeders Facebook page today following up. My guy actually came from different parents all together and using their black female that is "retired ". Small world!

That’s a beautiful pup, wonder what goes through their little minds???

On the pic on the couch, sure has some deep rust colors. Maybe that’s why you are seeing deep black black.

Omg, I missed this thread. Congratulations and what a beautiful little girl she is.

How exciting to see so many puppies coming home and we get to share in their growing up!!

Thanks! She does have some pretty deep rust colors. I'm used to seeing black labradors, and they aren't nearly as black.

I know! I can't even keep track of them all! They all look so similar too. All adorable babies  No reds home with hew families yet, or did I miss something? I can't remember so many new DCF babies at one time ever!

Congratulations on the new puppy!
You have a whole different Doberman experience ahead of you.

Maja is also NA x Euro bred too. (My 1st)
I have to say she is very different from the 5 NA dobermans I have had before.
The breeder told/warned me they are very different and she was not exaggerating.
At about 8 months of age I was wondering if I had made a mistake ...Maybe I was too old or in over my head with her?
But working with the breeder we rose to the challenge and the reward has been the best Doberman I have ever owned or worked with.

She is a handful very intense with seemingly endless drive and energy. Unlike many of the American Dobermans she is fearless stands her ground and doesn't back down period. Lots of exercise and mental stimulation is key and not optional lol. Super intelligent and easy to train but I have learned that once she has learned something she gets bored easily with too much repetition so it's really important to keep things fresh, fun and mentally challenging.

Congratulations & enjoy your new pup! If she is anything like Maja you will find the hard work you put into training will pay big dividends and you will have a dog that most people can only dream of.
Cheers
MR

I just love Am/Euro mix. You seem to get the best of both. And not so much of what I don't like about the 2.
I'm late to react to your comment but would you give more details of your observations and what you have in mind?
Interested because Bedja is our first Doberman, also a 50/50 NA x Euro, and hd and I do not have Doberman acquaintance from the past. (had GSDs, Great Danes, Boxer)

I actually had a Am/Euro, the boy in my avatar. IMHO there is good and bad in the look of both. A combo sort of brings balance. I don't want to go off topic and take away from Robin's introduction here. I think I explained what I mean somewhere in the American vs Euro thread.
