Hi. Another ear pocket problem

So a few while ago i posted about my dog having ear pockets and got very helpful replies and manage to correct them. After the correcting I posted it normally again and after a couple post, the pockets pop back in. Now I am correcting again he is currently 5 months. Can anyone give me tips how to post it without causing ear pockets? I would be okay with posting with correction post but it is not comfortable for him. And I'm using straw method

The straw method or zip tie method will not help correct pockets. You need to try the backer rod or tampon method with a bumper. Any new method you try is going to be awkward for him and he will likely try to mess with it, but if it's seated properly and not taped too tight, he will get used to it pretty quick.

Thank you I’ll try to do the bumper method

A reminder that time is running out for fixing the ears. Between 5 and 7 months is when teething is done.

My boy had small pockets. I used the backer rod bumper method for most of his posts once I saw the pockets. The backer rod will be more supportive. Make sure you pull the ear up and have the rod sit firmly in the ear so the bottom doesn’t pop out.

Use the backer rod method. Pull ears up high and tight on the back tapes backer rod. Make sure to push backer rod all the way down into the ear bell.

Thank you for the advice I will definitely try it

I don't think the pocket looks too bad so it can still be corrected. When they have a serious pocket the ear will lean over the head and look terrible.

Yeah I just corrected it. Only took one posting, but taking extra precaution now to avoid it

When my puppy had pockets in the beginning, I continued to post with bumpers until he finished posting... I didn't want to risk it coming back again. I've heard some ears were fine for a little while and then the pockets came back. Personally, I suggest continue posting with bumpers until he is fully done posting to be extra safe! If pockets come back now, it'll be much harder to correct it, especially with the age...

We did exactly the same thing.
