A beautiful morning at 51°! Fed the horses, walked the dogs and came back to watch the sun coming up. All three of us were watching it. Until a squirrel caught their eye! lol
Headed back to Illinois and within 5 seconds of leaving on a 10.5 hour drive, the stuff in the back of the car shifted and scared the sh*t out of the dogs. Added a few bungee cords so now its all secured but Rubie will.not.relax. Only 6 more hours to go
Sharing is not Bogie’s strong suit. Bacall showed interest in the rope ball. Bogie very promptly grabbed it and the kong ring and jumped on the couch with them, leaving Bacall with her Kong ring.
^^^^^^Isn't that part of the fun? Having their very own present to destroy!
@LifeofRubie I have noticed that the ability to take something startling and potentially dangerous and making it an issue is a Doberman thing. Super sensitive about stuff like that it seems!
@LifeofRubie last year when we drove 12 hours to Florida for Christmas Brinks would NOT relax the entire way there. He was so tired but forced himself awake, eyes all watery and he was shaking. Whined. Turns out he just didn't have -quite- enough room, he could lay down but apparently not enough to his liking. Which is odd because at home he will contort himself into a ball smaller than you'd think capable to fit in a chair. On the way back we were towing a trailer and our cooler and bags were in it so there was more room, and EVERYONE was happier.

I find that Jasper likes to make a small hole and pull all the stuffing out. Just have to keep an eye on it if theres a squeaker! But he has a blast doing it so I let him. Someone got a stuffed hedgehog from their secret santa. That is Jaspers favorite. He always picks it out at petco XD
@jazzies mum I mean.... I actually thought at one point that they'd both been scarred for life I think they will be OK, though
@Brioddy the really annoying thing is... we have a cargo basket to put stuff out on the hitch. I actually looked at it before we left home and was like... Do we need that? Naaaaaaaah. But you inevitably come back with more stuff than you left with so shame on me. They got some Benedryl mid-trip and that seemed to help
Not dog related buuutt I got new eye glasses today! It’s been probably over seven years since I last saw an eye doctor, and mine have been too damaged to use for awhile. Might not seem like a big deal but I feel like a new person! It also took waiting THREE AND A HALF HOURS. My poor dogs were wondering what happened to me.
I got two pairs plus the exam for $60! It’s also important because I’ve been doing a lot of studying... for my veterinary technology class! I’m officially enrolled and about a quarter of the way through my first semester.
