@Tropicalbri's We might never look like we did in our younger days, but I bet when the going gets tough it's us "oldies" who will be still hanging in there through grit and determination!
@Brioddy Betcha Brinks will settle to the job just fine after the start chaos. These events tend to be a bit exciting at the takeoff as every one jinks around getting themselves down to business. (My brother does 5km and 10km runs quite regularly just for fun, and reckons you can get mowed down by the overachievers at the start if you're not careful!)
@Max Hawk Joe is magnificent and your photography is brilliant too!

I spoke to the race director and they’re releasing ten teams every ten minutes, so it won’t be the chaos that it would be if everyone started at once! At this point my game plan is to set the pace so we won’t have to deal with any one else at all, but that’s also being a bit cocky LOL I honestly have no idea what the competition is going to be like. I am NOT a runner, though I am certainly going to train and prep the best I can, the only fact that gives me hope of doing well is the obstacles. Brinks is very capable and confident that I’m not sure most other dogs are. Thank you for the vote of confidence <3

Last night.
It’s unusually cool here in May.
The wife and I on the couch, we scooted over so Rocky could get up.
He went and got his blanket first.lol.
This isn’t something he normally does.
Put it on my lap, put his own vest (which he hates) on my feet, then got in the couch in a sit.
I guess he wanted me to wrap him up so I did, and he laid down sort of on me and chilled out. Finally.
Then he starts raising his head for pets.
And if I don’t touch him he starts with this wooooWoo whining
No, he isn’t spoiled at all.
