lots of activity going on outside for these two to watch



Our neighbors that we share the fence line with in the back of the yard lost their dog a few weeks back. In talking with Linda, she said she's never gone very long without a dog but she definitely didn't want a puppy. I looked out there last night while making dinner and saw them come into the backyard with a new dog, they're sheltie people, get a collar on her and then she took off. They were out there chasing her around their yard for probably an hour and a half before we finished up dinner and went out to help wrangle her. I really wanted to tell them that chasing her wasn't going to do anyone any good and just stress her out more but they were out there zigging and zagging while she was eluding them.

I kept talking to her and moving toward her slowly; eventually they pulled out a net of some sort to try and catch her. She finally laid down and I was able to crouch up next to her, pet her a few times, and grab her collar after about another half hour. Smart little doggo, one year old, named Sabrina. Our dogs were watching our antics the whole time, very interested in the going ons. I'm sure other neighbors were enjoying the show!

These kids are so alert to everything you do. I went upstairs and came back down with sunglasses on. Bogie went running around, bouncing everywhere. Not Bacall... she knows if she stays in a down position and behaves, she will get to go with me. She is a smart cookie. She got to go, Bogie had to stay.

I kind of was! You don't chase around a new dog in unfamiliar territory!! Talk about scaring the poor thing!

Why did they not put a leash on the dog with the collar? I would think using a leash to walk the dog around the property to get him/her comfortable with its new environment would have been preferable.

It seems like they've typically had... 'easy' dogs? I think they've always raised them from puppyhood so this might be a whole different beast for them. We're taking bets on whether they've already returned her

When I parked in my drive I noticed a little flurry of movement outside in front of me, after 28 years of subconsciously ignoring it a second later I realized - “hey! That was a lizard?”

There are millions everywhere in Florida, but this is the first anole I’ve seen in the going on two years I’ve been up here. I didn’t think they lived here. Happy to say they do! And he’s a fat little bugger.

They do realize that Sheltie's are a herding breed and are experts on zig zagging, don't they? LOL

Now that’s funny when you think about it. Gee, I think I will go catch my herding dog by chasing her. Ok where is the mud pit when you need it.

This is what I noticed on the ceiling before going to sleep. I kept waking up to make sure it was still up there and not in bed with me. Lol

Not much bothers me in the way of critters or creepy crawlies except for big hairy spiders. When I was a kid my dad got so tired of me waking him up in the middle of the night to whack em, he bought me a can of spider killer that would shoot 25 FEET. I’d stand in the hall and be able to hit one across the farthest side of my room!

I really don’t like killing things for no real purpose, but if they’re in my house the fear is real! Any other bug including the stinging types I will usher outside but those big spiders give me a melt down LOL

My mom would tell me, "He'll go home." I'd say, "This IS his home!"

I told them I would work agility with her if they wanted! She'd be amazing!!! A lot of the IG agility accounts I follow are shelties.

We got another snowstorm here (had one two weeks ago, too). Moo is thrilled to pieces

Four less than the twins and I. I think we could have out run it if we were not trying to get through the door at the same time.

Mr Moo looks so mature in that picture. Rubie has the look of; “Oh please, nothing about snow is appealing to me, can we just go inside now.”
