Return of the eGGe!

..I know Grace is crazy for the kong treat dispenser, full or not she pushes that thing all day.
Bogie gets frustrated when he can’t get the treats out immediately so he proceeds to chew the top off to get to the treats. So if he can’t satisfaction with the egge I am afraid he will destroy it too.

Is it Good for inside???
Definitely not.

Timely question as I put the egg in his crate tonight so it could dry and without paying attention I later crated him...with the egg! :facepalm:He went nuts Inside the crate so I opened the crate door and he launched the egg out and it was slipping and sliding all over the hardwood floors with a giant black wildebeest chasing it. I had to tell Kaiser "enough" just so I could retrieve the damn thing. That scared me. Like my floors haven't taken enough abuse.

Really keeping my fingers crossed that it will survive Bogie's mouth! He shouldn't be able to get his mouth on it from what I've seen with Kaiser. He often chases the egg with his mouth open!

It’s pretty small, I still don’t think Eliana will be able to pick it up with her mouth because of the shape. I suppose it would be fine for in house if you don’t have fragile things that can be knocked off tables and sturdy furniture that won’t tip over if bumped. Totally depends on your house and house rules and how your dog responds to the egg. Lol.

My autistic son is equally as excited as Eliana about the egg. He loves Easter and egg hunting so he totally thinks the jolly egg is his. It’s made it’s way indoors (no harm done thankfully) a few times And I’m sure he will hide the smaller one from the dog. They all seem to share toys in this house. Eliana thinks all the stuffies in the house are hers

I will add that it’s made of really thick hard plastic. (Probably mentioned before) If you have hard floors it is noisy to have inside and your dog will be sliding around with the egg trying to get it.

I got the Jolly egg for my dog after I saw you talk about how much your dog loved it and my dog absolutely didn't care for it at all:banghead: I wish he would like it as much as your dog does!!
Sorry it didn’t work out for you. I’ve been shopping for one locally but it looks like I’ll need to order it on line.

Do you have a flirt pole? My dogs love it!

I'd say Absolutely Not!

We don't have the egg, we have a regular Jolly Ball. The hard plastic one. Had a screw in plug so you can put water in it to roll abnormal.
It's HARD plastic!
Outside toy;)
I didn't understand this ball until I saw it for myself. I see the screw top as well. Will be fun to try that out in summer!

Lol, just stick with it! Sometimes it takes them a bit of familiarity before they adjust to it and enjoy it. It may also be that it could be too cold for your Dobe? If he is more focussed on the cold he may not enjoy it until another season.

Ahhh it seems like everyone's dobes loved the Jolly Egg. Mine couldn't care less about it. I'd kick it towards him and he'd look at me with slanty eyes...like I have nothing better to do than kick around a plastic egg.

Buddy doesn't care for his either. :( And I doubt it's his age (Gonna be 10 yo in January) because he loves playing tug and brings me his toys all the time! I keep telling him to act his age, because I'm too old to play tug!! lol

I think I got the 12" one and its almost the size of Kali and hard plastic, so she's not interested either. :whoop:

With the new Jolly Ball (not egg!) it definitely slowed him down and he barked at it more because it was not the instant satisfaction of chasing the egg. He was also able to handle the ball more with his arms and never with his mouth. He did seem cautious to push it with his nose because it is pretty big. So from that standpoint I feel it might wear him out more mentally than the egg does. I saw him looking up and around to ensure that he didn't run into the fence. With the egg his surroundings stay visible to him. I'll let him burn off some steam first with the egg and then with the ball to see if will go quieter.

I wonder if Kaiser likes these types of toys better because we play soccer with him in the yard. We also don't have a Chuck it, so he is more used to chasing a ball on the ground versus having it thrown in the air.
