Kali has Coccidia! ........and now Buddy has it!! UGH

Oh gosh, Buddy too :(

We British say, 'when it rains, it pours!' (many difficult things happen at the same time) you've certainly had your fair share, bless you!

So glad you got hold of the medication, just in the nick of time. Hope he has a speedy recovery.

Buddy is on the mend! We were able to give him his medicine very easily. And honestly the first dose already seemed to make him feel better. There was no more accidents in the house, thank God. LOL and he perked up right away. Whoever it was that said it's a fast recovery, was right! It was amazing to me that two syringes of medication was a cure-all. That was pretty cool. I certainly didn't know what I was going to do with him overnight if he was going to have diarrhea. OMG LOL Not a fun thing to have a large dog with that.

Oh, also the vet tech at my vets told me they get this from eating rabbit poop! She said they can get it again and dogs often do. She's seen it happen. She's also seen where they have it and the owner can't even tell. I was surprised at that! I said there's no way you couldn't tell something was wrong with my two. Not with diarrhea and throwing up LOL but hopefully this is gone and stays gone!

Thanks for all the well wishes! :ty:

I wonder if keeping them on Diatomaceous Earth would help with that? I saw it on Chewy for $11/2lb bag and was intrigued! I guess you put some in the food once a day and it's supposed to treat and be preventive for worms...
@strykerdobe You use this stuff right? I think I remember you talking about it some time back?

Yes I use it sometimes! Here is a great site to learn lots about it! Most important buy ONLY FOOD GRADE ONLY! DE is also used in pool filters but its chemically treated. It will poison your dog or person!!!!!!!!!!

You can also mix it with water in a lawn sprayer and spray your lawn and shrubs. Will kill fleas and ticks. Your lawn will be white for a bit.

If I remember correctly it does not kill eggs. So it would have to be used for a month or more.

Also for worming is Organic Plain Pumpkin Seeds ground (with a coffee grinder) into a fine powder.
Its also best to get fecal tests 2x's a year.
