Throwback to the past. =)

Im told by the lady across the road that I fell into a ball on the road and the neighbours dobie jumped right over me and mauled that rottie. It had to be put down.
Whoa, what a story! And what a protector! Did the owners allow you to have any one on one time with him after that? Besides crawling through the hole in the fence? ;)

They were an older couple and had LOTS of grandkids that used to come visit from the city (I lived in a country town as a kid). Probably why he reacted the way he did! Lucky for me! [emoji4]
Mum was forever grateful so we dogsat him a few times and Id never miss a chance to run over for a pat (Mrs T made killer scones too, another brilliant reason to befriend the oldies and their dog!!)

we always had shepards as family dogs and I always thought I'd get one too. Beautiful and loyal. The neighbour had a doberman which we were told was nasty and keep away from the fence- but as kids we used to rev it up from the other side of the fence until it wanted to kill us :-D
I was walking, I think it was home from the park, by myself I was 8 and everyone else had ridden off on their bikes. I just remember finding a cool feather in the gutter. Looked up and there was this HUGE monster heading straight at me,. Mum tells me it was a rottie- I just remember the teeth. So I ran screaming down the street in the other direction only to see the neighbours dobie jump the fence and come at me teeth out. I still remember the fear thinking that dog was going to kill me because I used to bang the fence and laugh.

Needless to say I no longer banged on the fence but dug a hole under it so I could feed it meat I saved from dinner. His name was Caesar. Never wanted a anything but a dobe after that :)

Great story!!! Thumbs way up! :thumbsup2:

It's not Thursday but here's a throwback. This is Greta, my family's first Doberman. We adopted her from a rescue. She was such an amazing dog that I knew some day I would own another! She was a tad over weCan you tell what led me to Gretchen's name (hint: my yorkie that passed away was Gracie)? I'm not sure if I have too many more options for me next dog lol.Greta 1.webp
