Lucas birthday is coming up soon and so I'm being that wack a doodle that is going to throw him a party.
I dont plan on having children and so he is my kid. And with his condition I may not be blessed to have him even in two years. I'm making all the days count!

He will have his two best dog pals over and they will have the kiddie pool out.
I'm baking him a kidney friendly dog cake and ill make his (& his friends) favorite Salmon cookies.
These will probably just go home with the boys since I don't want any bloating from hard play and snacking!

Of course I made him a collar for the day. White with vintage looking multi colored letters that say Birthday Boy. Stay tuned in my sponsor thread for a picture come the big day!

His 'presents' are lots of goodies for later. Primal beef marrow bones, bully sticks, salmon skin rolls...all his favorites! He also got a few new toys which Ill give him that night.

For his actual dinner that evening I bought a wellness core Salmon, whitefish, and herring can to go over his Acana Pacifica food.

What have you done...or plan to do for your Dobers bday?

Nothing over the top.
A good morning walk, something special(and stinky) for dinner,a couple of toys to unwrap. They seem to almost like ripping the paper off more than the toy inside.:D
I have to admit I feel I'm being a little much. The other two Dobers (RIP) I've owned got nothing like Luca does. Boy is he spoiled. He is very dear to my heart though. I have a bond with him I've never experienced with another dog before.

Without children to spoil, and with maybe not so much time left, spoil him rotten.Like you said,"make every day count"!!I couldn't agree more.

You saw Archer's birthday bash photos so you know how overboard I went. Balloons, streamers, a cake, party hat,
presents, planned events, etc. No human babies here either so the boys are my kids.

I say live it up! Luca deserves a fun day and you to share it with him. Of course I say this fully expecting to view said day in pictures. If we lived closer, we'd be bringing the frosty paws :D

I just got him a hat and a birthday cookie...
I LOVE that hat! I've been looking for one like that. Where did you get that from?

Yes there will be plenty of pictures! I really do wish you lived within a reasonable driving distance from us!!

Luca has 2 bff buddies close to us. I'm sad to hear today 1 of them wont be able to attend. But he does have his best boxer puppy buddy locked in!

We stick with simple. A nice meal with something special like a can of Merrick's awesome food (seriously, the stuff looks so good I'm tempted to try it), a shopping trip for a couple new toys at Petco, and maybe a trip to a place they like such as the lake. Apparently one of the local pet supply stores gives free birthday cookies for your dog's birthday month so they'll get one of those to split now, too.

Hmmmm lets see.

They both got their own birthday cakes.

I think I spent like 70 dollars on two cakes lol.
They both got a plain double cheeseburger from mcdonalds.
We all hiked through the forest at the lake where they got a lot of off leash time in a clearing.
Then we finished it off with a dog park, and a movie and nap.

i haven't had my little pups birthday yet but for his birthday im planning on making him a really good cake that i think he will love along with his party hat. then after that im going to let him open a couple of presents and maybe after that take him to the park and then let him enjoy the rest of his day.

(How does your puppy open his presents because for blackies birthday im scared he will try to eat the wrapping paper)

unfortunately i dont know where to find it... maybe Party City?? my coworker gave it to me since she didnt need it anymore.. it was from her sons first bday. i think @Archer had the same hat maybe she can advise.
I bought ours at Party America :) It's really nice and sturdy. If you don't have a store locally you can buy them online off their website.

Godric is like a playful toddler... Always on the move and life for him is about play play play toys toys toys... He gets a birthday cake but always gets new toys to play with!!! The only time they get something to unwrap is at Christmas...
Tulip (although not a Dobe but equally important to me) is very food motivated. Outside of her Mommy it's the most important thing to her, imagine that! So her birthday strictly revolves around food :D

Thanks for telling me that. All this time I forgot I had a party city here. I went there today. They had so many fun 1st bday hats it was hard to choose so we got two. A traditional 1st bday hat and then a fun birthday hat you will have to wait and see in pictures. :D

Then I went out Luca shopping for more toys for his birthday.

You're welcome! They had limited choices when I went to mine, but I like the one we got. Can't wait to see what you selected. When is the big day?
